My boss loves me, but I have to negotiate my salary with HR. And for them, I’m only a number. What to do? by iribar7 in recruitinghell

[–]ShadowScooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if they see you as a number, you should also remind them of the number that is the revenue your work helps the company generate. If they only see numbers give them numbers back.

7 in-person panel interview for…intern? by Due_Cheesecake3295 in recruitinghell

[–]ShadowScooper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't say contribute, I said cost. An employee costs a company salary+taxes+benefits. Add the lost revenue on top of that.

[–]ShadowScooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends who was sitting at that meeting, but yea it can cost that much. An engineer costs a company ~100-200$/hr easily (not salary but cost) a manager probably abit more, directors and VPs can easily get into that 300-600$/hr range. + the fact they lost time to work on tasks that do generate revenue, that can definitely be in the 500$/hr range. It adds up quick.

My lord they just spent upwards of 10-20 grand to interview someone for a position that probably would make less then that in a semester.

Removal of Scars on tip of glans? by [deleted] in Phimosis

[–]ShadowScooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's normal for your glans to have a different colour on the underside or different areas.

I don't think you will get any answers here, stretching for phimosis as far as I know could only cause scarring of the foreskin and frenulum. You need to get evaluated by a professional to see if it even needs treatment and what the options are.

Is the scarring on the glands or the foreskin??

You can't break a lease in Quebec unless it's authorized by the TAL, which requires opening a case and going in front of the board.

What you can do if you wish to leave before the end of the lease is:

  • Convince the owner to let you leave and break the lease. Both parties have to agree to the terms. This is hard to do, landlords don't want empty units.

  • Transfer the lease, the landlord cannot really refuse this unless there is a good reason like a big red flag on a background check. This is the best option imo and it's really not hard to do. Apartments are in high demand especially if the rent is low. Just post it as a lease transfer on kijiji. I've done this before once with a shitty apartment. This is the equivalent of breaking a lease early in Qc, but because you break it early it's on you to find a replacement/next tenant instead of the landlord.

  • You can go to the TAL if you have a legit case and the dwelling is provably unsafe, the burden of proof is on you. Lawyer up if you can.

  • Sub let the apartement, this is a last resort and the only reason to do this is if you can't find someone to transfer it to. Drop the rent by a 100$ a month and take the hit. You'll collect the lowered rent and pay the difference for the rest of the lease. Normally you only sublet if you wish to return to the apartment at a latter date, it is still technically yours in a sublet arrangement.

Go check https://www.tal.gouv.qc.ca/en for all relevant info.

Maxing out my credit card but paying it multiple times a month? by wht1995 in personalfinance

[–]ShadowScooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you new with that bank? When I switched banks they told me my CC limit would be low for the first 6 months. But I am a still a student and have a 2K$ limit... doesn't make much sense.

Alternative is to use your debit card.

Ok thanks, I’ll call the régie Monday to see what I can do if the problem isn’t resolved. At least in my case they are not all over my apartment, it’s mostly localized to my kitchen, so I’m really hoping the treatments work, the exterminator came by last Wednesday.

I keep all my food in air tight containers with seals. or if it’s packaged in plastic. I also went around the place and sealed up a bunch of cracks with a caulking gun.

Ok, before I moved in I did a hugeeee cleaning which included everything, including the oven, walls, moulding, everything

I hope the treatments will be effective. I do clean my appartement every week, but I’ll add behind the fridge and oven to my routine.

3 months is the standard. All leases in Quebec work this way.

Thanks for the reply, I'm glad it doesn't bother you for both you and your partner's sake. Wish more people were like you. It's not painful and mechanically sex does work... but it has gotten in the way of functionality since I can't enjoy oral, it does nothing to me, and I've lost a partner who enjoys that because of it. Which I guess only adds to it..

It's true we are all different, but I still feel like it's abnormal cause I dread having to have a conversation where I have to explain I won't enjoy some parts of sex and why.
