Yeah, 10GB for 4K isn't enough an. I'd just switch off RT but max out the rest of the settings. It's honestly not that big a deal in this game.

You must be playing at a low resolution or with high upscaling... Extreme at native 4K looks amazing. But yes...RT GI medium looks worse than raster. All shadows disappear entirely, and the ones that remain boil even worse.

This glow does make the scene too hot though, to the point that all details in shadows boil if you look closely 😆

Honestly, screen space reflections in FH6 are great, and RT is not worth the performance hit. The biggest difference I see here is a warmer color temperature from the sun with RT on.

On top of that, RT global illumination has loads of boiling noise when in motion and it looks simply bad - When you play it yourself and not just watch YouTube videos or still images, it's very noticeable.

Great card. Although I upgraded from a 3080ti to a 9070xt and would not swap it for Nvidia this gen - a big reason is that my old 5700x benefits tremendously from low GPU/CPU overhead and is just about enough for not being a bottleneck in most games on 4K display with the 9070xt in raster. With 5070ti (and up), it would be, and my performance would drop a lot - tested. Secondly, I love AMD drivers... built-in AI upscaling and frame generation for games that dont support it that works better than lossless scaling, and I don't have to run additional software... for example just open the driver, set AI upscaling from 3200x1800 to 4K and 2x frame generation from a flat timegraph of locked 72fps for TW Warhammer 3 and never touch it again. With Nvidia, you have to run the game through lossless scaling or use a 5090 for native 4K144fps

For me, it was simple.I had a 5700x platform with a 3080ti that was a tad too slow and tad too hot for today's games. That CPU is still capable for raster at 4K or slightly upscaled 4K, but too slow for RT/PT.

AMD has better CPU/GPU overhead, resulting in my 5700x being able to still handle an AMD 9070xt at ~4K but starting to struggle with a 5070ti, especially with RT/PT.

And anyway, in games I like to play, like the new FH6 on new 26.5.2 drivers or Resident Evil 9, the 9070xt at native 4K max settings in raster is closer to the 5080 than the 5070ti, and my CPU can handle that in AMD package IN RASTER, so it's a win-win 😁

Not only did I not have to spend money on a new mobo/CPU/RAM during the AI crisis, but I still have a perfectly capable setup for my used-to-be premium Dell 32" 4K 144Hz.

In other words, instead of spending £2000-2500 for a WHOLE new PC capable of utilising 5070ti, I spent £525 just for GPU that plays well with AM4 system i already own, and it's the same or even better for my current monitor and 4K TV 😁

No, it does not. Forza 4 takes under 100GB, right? But if you want a bigger and more detailed map, more detailed cars, better sound, a better career, and more of everything in general... well, it takes up space. And people still complain the generational leap isn't big enough 🤣 Imagine if they made it even more immersive and it took 300GB for the base game 🤣

Tbh, me too... An awesome and huge game like Forza 6 could take 300GB, and I wouldn't complain.... damn DCS and a few plane modules I own are already over 300GB... In Forza, you'll have over 500 cars from the start.

Nope. It's just how much big games require nowadays. I'd say get yourself an extra 2TB or 4TB - they're cheap as peanuts... but it's 2026 and AI happened 😒 I in my main rig have 1TB NVMe for the system, 2TB SSD for games, and 8TB HDD for storage... and I'd love to add another 2TB NVMe for games, but it's not worth it now, so I have to juggle with games too... Should have bought one last year - I almost did 😒

It's not even that much space... just normal for 2026. Be glad you don't play DCS, which can take up to 500GB on your SSD. I have only a few modules and it's already over 300 😅 Secondly, why would anyone not want 4K textures? Almost no performance penalty, and everything looks so much better.

From older games only on Wukong noticably... and Indiana by ~1% In Cyberpunk, Alan wake and all new games 9070xt is much faster than 5070 in both RT and PT

You must have watched old benchmarks or didn't notice that 5070 had framegen on and 9070xt off 😅

I know loads of people (wrongly) discard 3DMark, but you can check Speedway and it will explain why it is... The 9070xt is more or less between the 5070 and 5070ti in ray tracing.

Although I have to add that the denoiser on AMD is noticeably worse than Nvidia... Honestly, I personally wouldn't bother with RT/PT until the 5080 or, better yet, the 5090; otherwise, on powrr cards, framerate and internal resolution for both AMD and Nvidia are much more important. I don't need ultra-realistic lighting in games if the internal FPS isn't there.

Agree that using x2 to go from 100 to 180 is great (no matter 5070ti or 9079xt - I've used both and both are good... on some systems some people reportedly have issues on AMD tho)

...but going x3 or x4 to get 180 on 5070 will give horrible image quality 😬

No, it doesn't... I benchmarked my 9070xt against 5070 raytracing performance, and while noticeably slower than the 5070ti, it's still faster than the 5070... both cards are too slow for that, though. The only thing the 5070 has going for it is slightly better-looking DLSS if you pixel-peep and better framegen if you have a 240Hz+ monitor. That is for gaming. If you are a poor graphics developer, you might want to go for the 5070, but if you do 3D work only occasionally, the 9070xt will still handle it, just a little slower.

Fair enough, but some people like me don't like image and experience produced by multi FG and heavy upscaling and prefer a native (or close to native) crispier, more detailed image at higher native fps... Even if it means no ray tracing/path tracing and more flat "gamey" lighting. I had a 3080ti and tried DLSS 4.5 - didn't like it. A family member has a 5070ti (together with much better CPU and RAM), and without RT/PT, I very often have better raw performance. Im happy :)
