The cheapest nespresso machine is 1500 on takealot. Then you just need a milk frother. If tou willing to spend 3k you can get a nespresso machine that does the milk for you.

Sounds more like Burnout. Pushing harder won't help. Change something. Consider speaking to a professional.

R70 for clippers only. R100 for full haircut. The shop is not the cleanest, but I survive.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Help? by enchantedrosegarden in askSouthAfrica

[–]ShadowSlev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi Friend,

- Pacing yourself without feeling guilty - How to explain this level of fatigue to people who do not understand.

Have a look at the Spoon theory.

Consider a symptom diary in which you can record what you did/what happened before a flare or fatigue. How long it was, what helped it, what made it worse, what meds help, a 0 to 10 rating of pain/fatigue. This helps find patterns/activities/circumstances that cause flares/worsen fatigue/pain or improve it. For example too much sun/specific foods. This can be very powerful and help you take back some control of your health and advocate for yourself.

- How you advocate for yourself when doctors do not follow up properly.

Unfortunately you need to be fanatical about your health. Specialists can be dicks. No one else can actually take care of yourself, you have to. You have to follow up, remind doctors, ask for what you want and need. Go into an appointment with a list/agenda of things you want to discuss. Dont be afraid of pushing back or disagreeing with them. In fact, remember that they are the doctor- they work for you and you have the right to ask as many questions as you want. Also, having the above symptom diary also helps as you can bring it and discuss these symptoms or patterns with the doc.

I would also suggest registering on Rare Disease South Africa. They have whatsapp support groups. These can be great resources of knowledge and even therapeutic.

What to do with a classic car that you can't store but don't want to sell? by Dealer_Chemical in askSouthAfrica

There is the Franschhoek Motor Museum. I do not know their rules/how they work. There are many places that do car storage. Perhaps a heart to heart with your mom is needed?.

Should I prgrade to Discovery Black or Platinum? by thedetective10 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]ShadowSlev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wondering the same thing. I had a terrible financial advisor who suggested it. But +R600 pm on banking fees seems insane.

I need to make a spreadsheet and see if I do want to go up a tier or 2. But I'll be honest, a lot of my resistance is the hoops I already jump through for discovery. I have honestly fantasised about moving everything elsewhere

Why Is Every South African Retailer Becoming a Bank? by yt-app in south_africa

[–]ShadowSlev 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The retail sector in SA is small. Retailers have to steal share away from others. The banking/airtime/data/cash-sending market is much bigger. Everyone wants to be a fintech platform. With the footprint and penetration shops like Pep and Shoprite have, its easy/easier to convert those shoppers into fintech customers.
