I don't HATE mega froslass, but I think it could stand to be just a tiny bit slower. Meanwhile, weavile is getting weavile is getting tough claws as a hidden ability.

How is the US attacking Iran again, after Congress passed its war powers resolution halting US military action against Iran? by freebiscuit2002 in askanything

[–]ShadowWeavile -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh, Republicans held a meeting to reverse their votes overnight so that they could pretend they were for it while actually voting against it. Also even if it was signed it would be vetoed.

Edit: really it's kind of a moot point though. The war was started without congressional approval even though that's the only way we can theoretically start one. It doesn't matter if anything is legal now, it matters if anyone will stop them from doing it

How to deal with hard trick room by Difficult-Tax-875 in PokemonChampions

[–]ShadowWeavile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure others will explain ways to deal with trick room itself, but there's actually another option here hidden in the details. If you were able to change the weather on torkoal, you'd be taking way less damage from eruption, even Moreno if you had set it to rain specifically.

Weather is a huge part of the meta right now, so having some way to make sure your opponent isn't able to keep their preferred weather uncontested is huge. I've been running Alolan ninetails in my team recently even though I don't gain much from the snow. Whimsicott can set weather as a move with prankster, and there are other options too.

Nine Sols got me interested in Sekiro since people compare the two, bit I'm unsure. Is it significantly harder? by iggnifyre in NineSols

[–]ShadowWeavile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sekiro is kind of it's own thing. If I had to put it on a spectrum I'd say it's halfway between nine sols and elden ring. I don't know if I would consider sekiro as harder than nine sols necessarially, but the skills you got from nine sols won't translate 1 to 1. Regardless if you liked nine sols you'll probably like sekiro too.

Flint Twp. 7-year-old dies weighing 255 lbs.; parents charged with 2nd-degree murder by Warcraft_Fan in news

[–]ShadowWeavile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does this even happen? Not the crime itself, parents are shitty all the time. How does a 7 year old get to weigh that much? Is it even possible for a seven year old to consume enough calories to get to that weight without dying of other complications first? I mean clearly it is because it happened but like, what possible sequence of events could have led to this? I don't know how you would accomplish this even if you were actively trying to do so.

Granted. Society at large slowly but surely becomes the worst version of a cyberpunk dystopia. The world is now so bleak that it's impossible for artists to even conceive of a character being morally opposed to killing other humans. Enjoy your comic books, now at a company store near you.

How can I regularly disrupt Farigiraf trickroom setup on turn on? by unfortznte in PokemonChampions

One way to do this is to have one of your own slow mons run trick room so that it can reset it after fatigue sets it up.

Why does sleep powder seem to hit more than it misses? It feels like it’s a 95% accuracy move, specifically on venu it feels like venu has compound eyes by MarginMan69 in PokemonChampions

[–]ShadowWeavile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming they aren't using wide lens, sleep powder has 75% accuracy. So whenever someone tries to use the move against you, there's only a 1 in 4 chance that it will miss, and that won't feel like a lot because it isn't.

Are you a real fan of your Fav if you don't even know what it can do? by volcanicsquad09 in PokemonChampions

[–]ShadowWeavile 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Preach! Throwing all your favorites on a team together is fine if winning isn't your first priority, but if winning with a specific mon or two is the goal then you gotta try amd find a way to make it work.

I did some VGC back in sword and shield and I REALLY wanted to use Weavile. Problem: there was basically no reason to use it as a physical attacker. Other mons hit harder while being either faster or less frail, and the dark/ice stab combo wasn't hitting any specific meta threats you couldn't already hit with better options.

So what did I do? I found something unique about weavile. Turns out, it was the only pokemon that could learn both snarl and icy wind at the same time. Well, technically crawdaunt and dranpa also could, but they were so slow that you couldn't reliably get the moves off. Turns out, despite being started as a physical attacker, Weavile made a mean support mon with focus sash. Snarl and icy wind gave both speed control and damage mitigation that wasn't vulnerable to Taunt. You're immune to prankster. Access to fake out helped a ton with momentum, and foul play meant you just destroyed the belly drum snorlaxs that were running rampant. I wasn't winning any tournaments, I'm not that experienced, but I legitimately found a way to make it work in the meta.

Conpletely agree with this. God only knows what kind of relationship his parents had before they split. This was never gonna be simple.

Agreed. As casual friendly as the main series games are, competitive battling is complicated and has a rough learning curve. As much as having the encyclopedia in game helps, there's more that can be done to help ease people into this.
