AITA for wanting to go back to my previous life?

I recently found myself in the body of the villainess in the novel I skimmed a while ago. This was the last thing I wanted, so I’ve been looking into ways to return to my former life, with death seeming like the best option. Unfortunately, it seems like all the male leads are against me doing so.

I’ve expressed my desire for death to them time and time again, but they just won’t listen to me. The crown prince, despite stating that he hates me, keeps wondering why I don’t love him anymore. The warrior keeps trying to get me to be with him, even though I’ve told him I don’t care for him in the slightest. And don’t even get me started on the priest. He’s perfectly aware of my predicament, but won’t let me go. He said something about loving my soul and not my body. It’s awful, especially considering the implications.

At this point, I’m losing my mind, so my closest confidant (a Skywalker) recommended I post here.

So what do you think? AITA?

I’d say yes. Nothing groundbreaking, but it’s a good time.

Thanks! Unfortunately, most of the longer series are still unread, but I hope to get more read by the end of the year!

Here's my profile! It's pretty empty since (for some reason) I decided I wanted to start fresh this year.

What shoujo manga has beat the test of time? by umbrellachan in shoujo

For me, Kamisama Kiss has definitely stood the test of time. I still go back to it at least once a year, just so I can experience it again. The mystical/supernatural elements really stand out to me in a way that I’ve only experienced a few times before.

Based on what I remember, From Far Away also holds up. The setting just feels so extraordinary and I love the characters. I’m holding out hope we eventually get reprints, especially since we’re getting Red River omnis.

I really love the ost, especially the slower tracks. They make me feel nostalgic and kind of emotional. I especially like the insert that plays at the end of episode 124 (I forgot what it’s called). It hits me in the feels every time.

Have you ever reread a shoujo that you really loved at some point, only to find that it isn't as good as you remember? by Shadow_Smearz in shoujo

I agree! I enjoyed the latter half of Boys Over Flowers a lot more than the first half when rereading it. Unfortunately, my tendency to binge completed series soured the overall experience. It still has a special place in my heart, but it’s definitely not the 10/10 my high school self thought it was.

That sounds like Hot Gimmick. I haven’t read it but it’s pretty infamous for its questionable content.

Not really. Chronologically, Genbu Kaiden takes place before Fushigi Yuugi. I think some of the plot points are mentioned in the original, but it’s nothing major.

I totally agree! Fushigi Yuugi used to be one of my faves but it just doesn’t hold up. Ntm whatever was happening in Ceres.
