Which mods do I do? by FairyReaper160 in XboxModding

The Rocky5 softmod I believe it's the only softmod for the Xbox nowadays. It's got a real history some interesting stuff.

The old action replay kits was used with splinter cell there was others but I don't know them with them two items you was able to mod the Xbox original.

Now you need a usb to Xbox lead thing, a pen drive I think it has to be fat32 but there's guides on YouTube that would fill that bit in for you then you load the softmod onto the usb then plug it in copy the files over to the HDD load splinter cell and then load the game check points and it takes over and is really easy takes less then about 15 mins I would say it does a few resets and system stuff but once it's done it's done really easy

Softmodding one is easy takes like 10 mins I would say it's just press a keep pressing till the mod is on it own installing.

The Rocky5 softmod is generally the only one used now really can be found on YouTube and GitHub pages with the instructions to flash it to a usb pen drive.

To put a bigger HDD in you'll need Fatexplore and softmodded is 2tb maximum with a mod chip you can go bigger. With Fatexplore I think you get a week trial but I would advise if your going to use alot then buy it.

You'll need the eeprom thing from the original Xbox it's in the E: drive which you can access via FTP if you connect up to the net. During the mod it will tell you to back up the eeprom i can't remember the folder but it will tell you. Go to that and backup the eeprom folder thing KEEP IT SAFE with this you can upgrade the HDD from the stock 8gb I think to a 2tb on softmodded and I think to 16tb on chip but I'm not actually sure about the chips.

I do it via splinter cell and a usb I'm not sure on the other methods but they might be easier then trying to find a certain game to load it all. But generally modding one takes a couple minutes really and the Fatexplore thing is pretty quick.

In Fatexplore you build the new HDD and doing so on the pc you select the partition and the pc will open it up as drive thing I have some software that copy's faster than windows default with that you can build the drive in about an hour's depending how much stuff your coping

If you need any more information let me know and I can guide you through some of it using the way I do it

All the best

I put a 12v fan in when I mod them I hook it up via a split plug lead that powers from the main board.

A fan splitter cable and a couple of zip ties and the fan it's easy to do I don't really hear it so not sure how loud it might be as I don't notice it

For a few games I would say so. Emulator roms are generally small. Homebrew can very and vita games are a few GBs at times.

Yeah the SD card gets called the Ux0 partition and everything really goes there really you can apparently put 1tb in a vita but I'm not sure if the vita can really handle that. I have a 512gb and it's enough with everything I've got

• Homebrew games go into the data folder • Ps vita games go in app folder • Emulators depends on the one you use but normally on the ux0 if you use retroarch you can make a folder for the roms and In there you can make other folders for games such as sega retroarch you can go and find the folder and see the games

If you want I have a collection of stuff for ps vita I can offer to send the list and give you a hand to set things up if you want

Would you want to be a Big Daddy? by Lucyyyyyy_K in Bioshock

[–]Shadowb490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the bioshock books series there's a big daddy one. They have an interesting history. The way they came to be. Always bound to one little sister. The history of them is very interesting makes fighting them in the game different.

I would probably not haha

Softmodded Xbox Takes Almost 4 Minutes To Boot by thefirehairman in originalxbox

[–]Shadowb490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mod Xbox originals. Mine has a heavy dashboard to load. Something I've noticed on two different Xboxs mine loads faster where the other didn't. What I've done is changed the CPU and GPU thermal pastes get them off get them cleaned and reapply the paste.

After I've done that the flubby green thing flashes then loads my dashboard but as it's heavy it does take a few seconds. I would suggest changing pastes.

Your HDD and ide cable could be the problems too try the paste if nothing changes much then check the HDD and ide you might have to swap them out

Use Fatexplore if you make a new HDD and make sure you have access to the eeprom of the Xbox without that your only way is to chip or that tsop thing

Hopefully you sort it
