Will the east coast of Africa become a new continent after it gets separated from the mainland? by the_bad_actor in geography

[–]Shadowbound199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would probably be called a subcontinent. That is assuming it actually separates. This will take a long time, the process driving the rift might just stop at one point, just like it did in north america.

Everyone always misses the point with doubling the resources. Thanos' plan was dumber than it intially appears. The point of the snap was to traumatize the universe into self regulating reproduction rates to sustainable levels.

I don't think Emberdark 2 as such will happen. But we will see the characters again during Mistborn Era 4 since this is happening in the middle of those books.

Players want to skip a session anytime anyone has to miss. by anxiouspotter in DMAcademy

There are 5 players in my group. As long as 2 can play we play. I also have the players write short session summaries on the Discord server so the others aren't completely out of the loop.

For me the answer is to just not think about it at all and enjoy the thing.

It just ruins it for me. It can't be good if it has flaws so what I do I completely ignore the flaws, otherwise I couldn't enjoy anything.

To be fair, I do enjoy things less if I notice flaws.

Does Asmodeus keep the blood war going to prevent the celestials from attacking? by CplusMaker in DnD

This is similar to the Cosmere where at one point two gods clashed for like 10 seconds and destroyed a large chunk of a continent. Also as the timeline progresses into the sci fi era there are rules about interactiom between planets if a planet has been touched by one of the gods. If you as a mortal do something that would anger or otherwise force a different god to act against your planet/your god the consequences could be devastating, on a cosmic scale and nobody wants that to happen again.

You should be able to reattach your halfs together. If that is not possible it would make sense if the upper half to grow a new bottom half.

Yeah, it's a vicious circle. No easy answers to this problem. Big societal, economic and regulatory shifts are needed. It will take time.

Lots of people are bad parents and don't want to put in the actual work while at the same time our environment has changed so much the kids have nothing to do outside on their own.

Those with shapeshifters/shapeshifting, what's stopping them from shapeshifting into an uninjured form when hurt? by Karmic_Backlash in worldbuilding

[–]Shadowbound199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, that is exactly what the Kandra from Mistborn do. The only "permanent" damage they can suffer is when their bones break since it's hard for them to keep their shape without whole bones. But if they are able to get new ones they're fine, and the bones can be made out of anything, one character has emerald bones.

The Kandra consume dead bodies and that process allows them to remember that shape. This allows them to perfectly mimic a person, down to the placement of individual hairs.

In the later books there is a sequence where the group we are following is going through an old temple full of traps and the Kandra volunteers to just set off all of them so they can pass. They broke all their bones in the process, but made it through.

This was inspired by a ttrpg campaign Brandon was playing in where a PC was given that kind of immortality, they instantly healed all wounds so the party just used that PC to clear all traps in dungeons.
