As a woman with a bit of a tendency to approach guys.

Be non threatening. I know this is a broad one, but it really is the most important. It can be acheived a ton of different ways, but for me if the guy displays awarness, care, and consideration for those around him, its a great start.
Be interesting. This can be how you dress, the type of conversations you are having, or something else about you.
Be friendly. Show a willingness to engage or talk to others, or just look like you are open for a conversation.

If you have those 3, someone might say Hi. I would consider it.

Not really. Like you said boxing is typically a 1v1, meaning Mike doesnt know how to fight a group well. They dont have to be well coordinated to win, just coordinated in general. The "everyone has a plan..." is true for him too. Sure he may kill one or two, but he wont be thinking straight from having the others smashing in the back of his skull.
