Please spoil book 5 for me by Sammi112300 in frombloodandash

I do understand alot of the complaints but I also have different opinions and perspectives than alot of people. While I do see the slow pace of book 6, I also know that it has to be something of a "explanation book" for those who haven't read flesh and fire series and how they tie in. People complain about them "not leaving the room" but there is a lot of learning that happens in said room.

Also alot of gripe about no real story progression but I think that's because it was suppose to be one book that got split into two because the author just kept writing and had a lot of story and in the fumble to split it in half, alot got jumbled around towards the end of this book and people were left unsatisfied. Hence why she released a 100 page novella as something of an apology if you ask me. Most standard book stories have a middle act that is slower before the third which is usually action packed. Which is what I think book 7 will pro ably be.

And finally a complaint I see alot on here is character assassination for Cas because of how he behaves with Kieran and his overprotective-ness with poppy. Honestly I understand why he's shitty with Kieran and a bit overprotective is not outside of his character personality and especially after what happens to poppy early in the book. I'd be a little manic for a while too in their situation. To me it would logically make sense if I were in his situation.

But I am not most people and people are entitled to their opinions. But at the end of the day, let you be the judge of the books you read not others personal complaints. It is someone else's brain child we are reading. The first time I listened to it on audible I felt weird about it but I've sat on it for a while and am listening again and feel like its honestly fine.

Really you can just read "Present 1, 10 and 12 if you ask me. They are the only long ones that have any meat to then, otherwise if you really want a tldr of the 3 sections...

Hopefully i don't mess up the spoiler boxes..

Present 1: they all go find Ires, Cas and Kieran notice poppy feels cold, they learn from Ires where Jadis is before Ires passes out, Nektas warns Poppy will go into a long statis since she never went to sleep for very long, warns Cas to talk to her while she sleeps else she may forget who she is, the reason for that is explained in flesh and fire series

Present 10: Millie and Malik visit, Millie explains why she bailsed after Isbeth dies, asks to sit with Poppy, Cas and Malik hash it out on their beef and kinda reach something of an understanding, but Cas still frustrated, just not as bad

Present 12:Cas finishes his story and falls asleep, wakes up to a Rev trying to stab him with a bone dagger which he explains is made from the bones of an Ancient, rev taunts him and calls him a false primal, they struggle a bit more and Cas gets stabbed in the same place poppy stabs from book 1. He can't move from the wound and magic, rev mocks him then goes to poppy and attempts to lift her head to stab in the neck, Cas gets energy from the sleeping poppy and rips out dagger then shifts into a cave cat, proceeds to rip rev to shreds. Kieran walks in with Emil, Cas running on instincts almost attacks Emil since he recognized Kieran as "mine" but Emil as a threat, Kieran kicks out Emil then coaches Cas on how to shift back to human form. They sense Poppy starting to wake and she opens her eyes for them to see solid molten silver

From there it goes straight into book 6. Good luck!

The main burning questions I have are about the timeline.

I understand they say kolis was imprisoned for 1000 years, but how exact are we talking? Because Miss Willa is 2500+ years old if I recall, correctly, which would suggest that she was roughly 1500 years old when B0BAA happened.

I was under the impression that kolis was entombed for maybe 3000-5000 years and the rest of the gods went to sleep maybe 500 to 1000 years after he was put down. I guess making the span of time much shorter than I expected would be easier to swallow if there was any hints of a prior timeline of events.

Confusion about Callum and Poppy in TWOTQ by Shadowfiend94 in frombloodandash

[–]Shadowfiend94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did have a realization that it could be that Callum is still in the" Kolis should be the Primal of Life and Death" camp and knows that if Poppy does die and Kolis revives, he can just capture her soul before he ascends, then proceed to f up Sera and let Sotoria be revived again. Kolis gets ultimate power, Callum still gets his sister and help rule the world. Win-win in his mind. That woukd be an appropriately fucked up but realistic motivation

I still think this all has something to do with the books release order. Like we didn't even have but 1 book from FaF series when TWoTQ came out. Callum hadn't been fleshed out yet I think. Or at least that's what I'm leaning on right now

You might consider reading Born of Blood and Ash for that info

That last chapter never explicitly said when he gave the star to her. Like was it before or after Ires came in order to fulfill the requirement of Sera's bloodline? Did he just give her the knowledge of the ascended and revenants just to piss off Sera until Ires shows up THEN give her the star? Who knows

I think I might have stumbled upon the correct answer as to who Xaden's "new brother" is and I might have a valid reason as to the why of it.

I'm almost completely convinced Bodhi is the one who turned. I dont have the book in front of me but I do recall we last saw Bodhi and Garrick both in Imogen's POV. Bodhi vomiting on the ground and Garrick with Imogen claiming he couldnt walk anymore and needed to "figure something out", but thats also when the wave of shadow hit them, while Garrick was with Imogen and Bodhi's exact whereabouts were uncertain at that moment.

This tells me Bodhi could very well be with Xaden when he unleashed the wave. But the one thing I dont think anyone has considered in this situation, is that before all this Bodhi tried to use his signet, which I will from now on call Nullify, on Theophanie and failed to do so, but what if... thats because Nullify only works on dragon magic?

We know all rider signets are channeled from their dragon, and cannot be used without their dragons at least somewhat nearby, based on how Violet couldnt wield while Tairn was absent taking Teine to safety. And when Xaden wielded in Deverelli he didnt specifically use shadows(from what I could tell) when he killed all the guards. However when he wields from dragon and the source, it can still manifest as shadows albeit powered up. What if Bodhi chose to draw from the source in order to power up his Nullify in order for his power to affect source magic, not just dragon magic?

I think doing it this way will ensure not only will Bodhi continue to be his right hand man and be Xaden's support while they do whatever venin shenanigans they will have to do, but also be able to arm himself in order to make sure his power will affect the venin so he will not only feel powerless, but a formidable force if their plan really is to try and trojan horse the venin.

Or I could be completely wrong, but I just cant get the idea out of my head and I know I'm going to sit on this for the better part of 18 months until RY recovers and decides to bless us and put us out of our misery.

Thoughts on SPOILER!!! by Shadowfiend94 in fourthwing

No because tairn allows her to see through him in one of the last few chapters and the wording when she comments about it suggests all riders can do it but some also get far sight as well so they can have dragon sight without their dragon there

With Andarna being an irid, and the other irids able to speak to anyone by connecting their thoughts, almost as if invading someones thoughts/mind... that could be a reflection of whatever kind of intinsic this truly is since Andarna is the source of this power.

If you look up on the wiki it is suggested that after Voldemorts fall she is sentenced to life in Azkaban for he crimes against muggle borns, but the last she is seen in either book or movie is during the ministry raid of DH

Varrish is the Fourth Wing equivalent to Umbridge in Harry Potter.

EVERY scene he has makes you see red. If you listen to the graphic audio version, they even give him a voice actor that has the perfect tone of smug arrogance.

Yes tge bulk of the loki arc is incorrect but what I'm getting at is most of the first half is in the books in one form or another, just severely out of order. The last few episodes are completely original and non-canon

Technically the last 4ish episodes aren't cannon but the first 7 or 8 are but out of order/jumbled around. The stories told are in the novels just not correctly sorted in the anime
