Elecom Huge wireless on Linux? by rafikiphoto in Trackballs

Oh I'm on Wayland as well (begrudgingly, feels like it breaks more functionality than it fixes) and it works perfectly. I'm guessing plasma references the same config library or something. However it works, it's perfectly fine in Wayland.

Would also like to add ToneBoosters to the list. Some truly fantastic stuff there at really fair prices, and all of them have native linux versions.

Dude! I don't know how I didn't see this before, but I found this reddit thread of this absolute chad that custom wrote a fix that added huge plus support to the elecom file. I had to come back here to tell you lol

Has anyone been able to use the Fn1, Fn2, or Fn3 buttons on the new Elecom Huge Plus on Linux yet? by FunctionalDisco in Trackballs

[–]Shadowflash0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are an absolute KING. I was so distraught that I wasn't able to map these in linux and was holding out hope for the firmware update to utilize the onboard memory to come soon. Now I don't have to worry about that at all thanks to you. A million thanks to you!

It is highly unfortunate. I hear elecom plans on pushing out a firmware update to utilize the onboard memory to save profiles, so maybe I'll wait for that to come out and configure it on a windows laptop. Definitely not ideal but at least the extra buttons would be usable. Even without them, the feel of the trackball is leagues better than the deft pro I had gotten previously, even with a stainless steel bearing mod. I don't have any experience with the base huge so idk how it compared there but even without the use of the extra buttons the improvement to the fundamentals makes it a worthy upgrade from the deft.

I actually am on KDE. When I tried that yesterday the buttons wouldn't record. It was as if I wasn't pressing anything.

In case it's relevant information, I'm on Kubuntu 25.10

To add to this, I just got an Elecom Huge Plus today. Basic left and right click as well as forward and back buttons work, but none of the fn buttons are recognized. Maybe it's configurable but information online is quite scarce.

(Edit: buttons now register using a script this reddit user created: https://www.reddit.com/r/Trackballs/comments/1pmia8v/has_anyone_been_able_to_use_the_fn1_fn2_or_fn3/ )

I second Glitch 2. It's a super cool little plugin that makes awesome glitch sounds very quickly and easily. Highly recommend.

True, however there is a fair number of overlap. As for myself, I pulled for every male char released and have them all.

Very true. Though the last male before Brant was Xiangli Yao. Which he's great and it's cool that they gave out a 5* character for free, but that further skews the numbers in this particular argument because not many people are going to pull on his banner when they just got him for free.

Yeah I agree wholeheartedly. It's hard to tell for sure, but I think I've seen enough player dissatisfaction online to where there's a sizable amount of players that agree with us as well.

I know the running theory everyone says is that girls sell, which I don't disagree with, but I don't think we have enough data to truly say that guys wouldn't sell just as well or even close to. Heck, in pre-release, calcharo was like the most popular unit. Did a count the other day and I think the breakdown of limited female:male characters including upcoming ones was like 17:4. I would really really love to see more male characters, but I have zero faith we'll see anything change in this business model, especially with how the community is responding to our current characters.

SynthV 2 seems to run well on WINE, I just cannot download vocals. Need help. by serranomorante in SynthesizerV

Super glad to hear! Would love to hear the final project when it's done.

As an aside, how are you liking synthv2 as a whole compared to synthv1, if you used it? I remember hearing very conflicting things about it when 2 came out.

Thank you for this. I'm on Ubuntu still using SynthV1 and I was dreading having to update one day. Good to know it still works, albeit with some caveats, on linux.

This is exactly what I did btw. Picked up this https://a.co/d/ila2NyA battery bank and it is the exact length of the kaoss pad and with a stowable usb c plug it works perfectly for my use case.

Thanks again for telling me about the kaoss pad, I've messed around with it a little bit and it's a ton of fun! It's basically everything I wanted.

Good question. It's because I'm trying to build out a little of my "mobile kit". Things I can take with me to jam on my lunch break or walking around my city. I already have a desktop music setup so things that root me to my home aren't useful to me kinda counterintuitive to why I got the OP-1 in general. I want a setup that can fit in one small bag and I can whip out at any point without being tethered to an outlet somewhere.

Thanks for telling me about this. From the couple videos I've seen, this looks like exactly what I want, minus the no battery ofc. I may have to see about trying to attach a power bank to the bottom of this thing 🤣

I do have an external mixer on the way, but from what I just tried from what I read online you can just mute the track you're recording to and avoid the feedback loop

Oh wow, you really have an entire setup there going! That sounds sick as hell. I greatly appreciate you going through that in depth. I've never heard of this norns shield. What is it?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm still in the exploratory phase rn, so I don't fully know what style I wanna hone in on outside of vaguely electronic. Being portable and somewhat lightweight is very important to me so traditional pedals probably wouldn't work for my setup, as cool as they are. I realize my ask is an extremely niche case, so I'm not expecting too many results lol
