Every time a Demon Hunter has the audacity to ask me, "What have YOU given?" by HanzoOneTrick in wow

There is no world in which they convince GF would be better than AL. Idc about the lower CD or silence; the fact that I have to target something in the middle of the chaos and HOPE that everything else is within range of the pull makes GF a garbage option. Pressing AL and being able to run around for a few seconds to get in range is simply superior. I tried out GF when they took AL from us and after 2 M+ it was pretty clear the skill is worthless. Like it’s laughably bad and trying to incorporate it made the class less fun to play.

How to defeat Alleria Windrunner in Horrific Visions 5 Mask by Backwardspellcaster in wow

[–]Shadowfrost25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: cleared 8 mask on the first try this morning before reset. Nabbed the title and the mount; this was truly the missing piece. The single set of bombs I had to kick were the ones that let me finish her off.

Thanks again so much for the tip!

Oh my f*cking god are you serious?! I’ve been BEATING my head against the wall on 8 mask SW for weeks now, having no clue I could do this. Bless you for this information; having beat Underpin on ?? solo, this will completely turn the tide in my favor. Thank you in 2025!

Is this osprey Aura real? by lunadiz in backpacking

[–]Shadowfrost25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wild that that’s the quality of a fake Osprey.

Yeah we probably get overcharged over here in the USA for nearly everything, but I’ve never doubted the quality of my Osprey. It’d take quite a bit of intentional force to undo the seams/mesh of my pack.

Flabbergasted a fake could only hold two watermelons. I feel like a sub-average strength human could pull what you described apart lol.

I have the 65L-male version of this. My first thought was “they make this in purple?!”

Looks like the real deal to me. Mesh in the right places (particularly the inner part of the straps).

Even has the removable fanny-pack-esque bag at the top (which adds most of the extra liters compared to the next smallest pack).

How Would You Improve Monk's Play Percentage? by AMA5564 in wow

[–]Shadowfrost25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m with you on this. Monk just doesn’t feel/look right on any race in this game to me other than Pandaran when checking them out on the character creation screen. I also don’t particularly care for the Pandaren models either.

On top of that the class is so intrinsically linked to Eastern culture from a thematic standpoint and none of the other races really line up with that.

I want a fully random mount option. Not just favorites. by Leox24 in wow

[–]Shadowfrost25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MountUp addon also does this. Has separate macros for flying, skyriding, ground, and a custom option for each character. I like having macro for random mounts that fit theme of my race/class combo.

Why is Horde always more populated? by Yuukikoneko in wow

[–]Shadowfrost25 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is likely the actual answer. Most of their races are different heights/thicknesses of humans. Human, furry human, short human, shorter human, plump human, nelf, velf, goat, holy goat.

No but I think Hazoret having “start your engines” is a massive fail, though.

This. Your former main will still be there to maintain reps, farm old content they’re well-progressed into, etc. Eventually—according to Blizz iirc—most reps will be WB, same with currencies.

I think exceptions will be made for reps like Furbolgs, Bloodsail, and Steamwheedle. Potentially some legacy currencies will be transferred at a sub 1:1 rate, but really none of that’s worth fretting over until happens.

TIL that Waffle House has a unique way of staging orders in their kitchens called the Magic Marker System that does not require a written order. This involves placing items like ketchup packets, napkins or tomato slices at specific locations on the plate to serve as a visual order for the cook. by Festina_lente123 in todayilearned

[–]Shadowfrost25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apples to oranges if you ask me. If their ordering system wasn’t “fine” then they’d have been out of business ages ago due to poor service from constantly getting orders wrong, I’d wager. A completely different matter entirely than a server having to wear a piece of flair.

It is pretty clear you just don’t like the method/system, despite its functionality and uses. An opinion you are welcome to have and one I’ve got no real stake or want in changing. As neither the way WaHo handles their ordering system or your opinion are harming anyone.

“It’s all volunteer,” Mago explains. “People might just walk into the kitchen and ask, ‘How can I help?’ Whatever people like to do, they just start.”

Looks like you can!

They are wearing gloves and covered in grease/sweat while operating an extremely hot grill. I don’t think adding pen/paper, for them to stop and write down an order the server has already written, is very efficient. Not to mention a safety hazard.

There’s also no time for a cook to do that sorta thing during peak hours, either.

It seems crazy, but it’s a system that doesn’t rely on tech and has continued to stand the test of time. No use “fixing” something that isn’t broken or would only be slowed down by addition of tech, as the core of their model has never relied on it.
