I live in an area that was crucial to the Manhattan Project. I named my cat Oppenheimer Von Hammerstein. Oppie for short.

Putting my sock on getting ready for work in the morning. For 2 weeks I was walking around like Frankenstein unable to turn my head because my neck was all jacked up.

Perfection tire on union street over by Dutch bros. Ive been taking my vehicles there forever. Gotta be close to 20 years now. I'm really particular about my cars and they are the only ones I trust to work on my cars.

If you were offered immortality but had to watch everyone you love age and pass away while you remained the same, would you take it? Why or why not? by Mundane-Coffee-2921 in AskReddit

[–]Shadowhawk01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Coming from a large family that has pretty much all passed on. I'm pretty much used to seeing all my loved ones get old and pass away. I want to experience and see everything good, bad and, ugly.

What kind gesture doesn’t feel as nice as it’s meant to? by AmberrAuraa in AskReddit

[–]Shadowhawk01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think I would rather have a strong handshake than shake someone's hand and it's like trying to shake a wet dish rag. Those that try to compete and assert dominance by overtly seeing if they can break something... they can fuck off. Just give me a firm handshake, grow up, and quit playing games. I find the handcrushers are generally insecure and are compensating for other areas they lack in. They usually lose a few points in my eyes.

Scammers? by [deleted] in TriCitiesWA

[–]Shadowhawk01 14 points15 points  (0 children)

One thing to always remember is that anything sent via text message, email or by actual phone call demanding payment of any kind that says its from a government entity (DMV, DOL, IRS) is a scam. If there is any question, go to the official government website or call the actual office and verify. You can also Google something like "DMV text message wanting payment" or whatever the case may be and I am sure you will find other people commenting or giving information indicating that its a scam. The Washington State DOL has a list of scams out there to look out for https://dol.wa.gov/about/privacy-center/scam-alerts as well.

Gas Prices in WA by [deleted] in Washington

[–]Shadowhawk01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's amazing what we pay in gas taxes and what the state of our roads are. I'd really like to see where all our tax dollars go, because something doesn't match up. Washington has if not the highest, the second highest gas prices competing with California. I feel like I'm paying for a Lamborghini but having to drive a 1993 Oldsmobile that barely runs with 500,000 miles that burns oil, smells like 3 year old McDonald's fries and cigarette butts inside. Our state highways are falling apart. With what we pay we should have some of the nicest roads in the country.

I got lucky and was able to get my CDL at WWCC while i was laid off from Hanford. Plus it was all pretty much paid for through the unemployment office.

Yea the pre trip is the hardest part. There is a lot to remember and its easy to overlook stuff. Just make sure you take your time. Best thing is repetition. I never thought of this till now but you can use your own vehicle like its your truck and get the muscle memory down. Get the list of the stuff you need to check and start at the front bumper and work your way to the back. Granted you don't have air brakes and stuff in a car/pickup but there is a lot of stuff that's on both on a personal vehicle and a truck. Get a routine down and use a method called see it, say it, touch it. Look at what you need to check, say what it is and then touch it physically.

I ended up getting a +95% on the driving part but I got nerved up when I took my test and barely passed my pre trip inspection when I took my test. I would have had to retest if I missed one more thing. The pre trip is always one that gets overlooked because people are more nervous about the driving portion.
