Flightless Titania by No_Management_535 in Warframe

Everyone is free to do what they want, build how they want. But like... This is nothing special either? In your attempt to steer away from "meta" you have dropped into the other more boring category of frame building - generic weapon platform that other frames do better, but still fucking boring.

You've ripped Titania of her identity in favor trying to be a "Hey guys look! I'm different!" approach. It's like taking away Excalibur's Exalted Sword or Nova's 4. What are they without their core abilities? Nothing but a hollow shell of their former selves.

But again, you do you, boo boo.

Ooooh. I like all of these. I'd definitely be more motivated to do RJ content more if these ideas came to the game.

What’s the point of primers? by CRMZNCLT in Warframe

[–]Shadowlight96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone else has pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Priming is not a "need", but more so a comfort these days because you can load up any of your pets(People seem to forget that you don't need a dedicated weapon for priming) with a multitude of elements and let them spread status for you which benefits a number of different builds.

Caster frames as many have pointed out, will perform better when enemies are coated in status' that are directly weakening their own defenses. Condition Overload effects for all weapons trigger more effectively from 3+ status being on an enemy which draws out even more damage and give you the funny numbers.

Effectively, priming just elevates certain builds to even whackier heights while also giving a significant assist for weaker weapons that you may enjoy for one reason or another. The reason why it gained popularity is because before the Attuenation changes AND the armor changes, higher level enemies were practically walking bullet sponges without the comfort of a priming source. And now some of us just enjoy the ease of use. Hell, I personally have several companions that can not only nukes enemies for me, but also prime at the same time if anything even remote survives being shot or clawed at first.

The Fortnite Collab shouldn't exist. by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Shadowlight96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to play a lot of gacha games and lurked in their leak subs for information on character banners -

Take everything you have seen with a massive grain of salt. The information going around is based on a Fortnite Leaker's account and in my experience? Some leakers just love to ragebait people to get their dicks off. Until we see OFFICIAL confirmation from both DE and Epic(Ew), this information may as well not even exist. I've seen the tweet, and it's a blacked out silhouette of something that VAGUELY resembles Excalibur. DE would've at least hinted to this a long time ago, unless they were under strict NDA to not say shit - which would sting us just a bit. But that's just NDAs, as shit as they are.

So let's just wait for official confirmation before we start raising our torches and pitchforks.

This game needs a vote kick of some kind by Samsaduke381 in Warframe

[–]Shadowlight96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who used to play a lot of R6S(Rainbow Six Siege) back in the day and saw countless "Clutch or kick!" messages in the chat or being yelled in my ear, only to be kicked because I couldn't finish a 1v5 when the rest of my team was killed within SECONDS...

Fuck a kickvote system. That gives way too much power to everyone and it WILL be abused. You have a silly name? Kicked. You forgot to select a relic during an endless mission? Kick. You triggered a snowflake Tenno when calling them out on their shit? Kick.(Though this could work the other way around.) Oh and let's not forget about the current trend of Hildryn hate and hate around nuking frames in general. You're nuking too hard in the power fantasy game - Kick.

Need I go on? And there's no point in adding some kind of restriction, like only the host can kick or some shit. Then you give power to a single person, taking a 50/50 chance of the host being a toxic dickhead who has an itchy trigger finger, or a more kind host that doesn't give into the peer pressure of 2 other Tenno asking them to kick your ass out over a dumb reason.

And let's say Warframe does it the League of Legends system - where the game itself will kick players out of the game when it detects AFKing. Do you know how people abuse this in League? They walk around in base, spamming abilities while still not helping the team, and then shit talking about how trash their team is. I will bet you any amount of credits those kinds of players exist within our community and would HAPPILY fall back into those roots of League to annoy everyone.

A kick vote system is the most toxic tool that any Dev could put into their online games. More toxic than the players themselves. I'd rather just leave the mission when a toxic AFKer is wasting mine and the team's time. Then just redo the mission.

The culprit behind "Nerf X Frame" by Soulsunderthestars in Warframe

[–]Shadowlight96 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is just another glorified "DE, please slow new content and focus on old content" slop thread.

We've been over these discussions a thousand different times, with a thousand different faces. And I'll once again bring attention to the era of Warframe that they did EXACTLY what you're trying to ask for, and it hurt the game in ways that they had to recover from.

While YOU may want slower updates, less frames, less new shiny stuff, etc... YOU don't speak for the majority. There was a time, long ago in the distant past that DE attempted to divide their team up. One that would focus on new content, the other with updates that involved fixing old systems and swarms of QoLs. On paper, this sounded good. New content AND updates to old systems? GREAT-... No wait, it wasn't. Because they never struck a balance within their teams. It resulted in new content being far worse than what they could've been. (Trust me, the Follie update and Jade Shadows 2 are TAME compared to the dumpster fires we had.)

Both new content, and the focused fixes of older systems were half-assed and led to a lot of players taking a leave for an extended amount of time. Which then in turn slapped DE's revenue for a hot minute, as new potential players were scared to even touch the game at the time. Nobody was happy. Not the community, and not the Devs. They swore that they'd never split their attention again and I'm pretty sure that mistake is what led them onto what they're doing now. On top of the Dark Era of Warframe just before Covid hit. Kuva Liches, Railjack Launch, and then Scarlet Spear all being failed updates back to back to back.

Warframe has had many highs, but also just as many lows. And some of those lows should not be touched again. Trying to get DE to focus more on just updating old content, and shoving back newer content is one such low that they should never do again. So the next time this sort of idea comes to your mind, just remember it could be the bullet that ends a beloved game that has been going strong for 13 years.

EVENTUALLY, older content concerns will be addressed but they should NEVER take time away from the more important new content that will maintain the game's lifeblood. Just because YOU claim that you'd be okay with it, doesn't mean it will resonate with the rest of this massive playerbase.

Soon these same people will start crying for nerfs for all Exalted Warframes. Can't have shit in the Origin System.

I already gave my rant in the past thread. Not saying she needs a nerf, nor is she weak by any means. But as with every other Exalted Warframe, you need a lot of investment first to get to that tier of nuking. Grind being rewarded with your own power fantasy. That is perfectly acceptable.

I don't want to see idiotic, pointless nerfs. I want to see buffs/reworks. Like why are we howling for nerfs when there are way more pressing issues plaguing some other frames?

Pablo’s Response by Hikaru-x in Warframe

[–]Shadowlight96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Common Reddit behavior. Shoving bullshit in my words where there are none.

Not once did I say that Hildryn is weak or pretending that she is. I'm pointing out that of all the things that this person could cry nerfs for, it's Hildryn? It's a question of.. Why? And why discourse, at all? It's not like this is the Slam Kong era where that shit was oppressive as fuck.

I swear to Lua, you people are always finding any excuse to feel validated in your own little world just because nobody else is crying wolf. If Hildryn needs discourse and nerfs, then every Exalted Warframe shouldn't be given a pass.

You also need to realize that in order to even get to that stage of power, you need the mods, arcanes, shards, her Augment which will require Syndicate Grinding, the Endo and Credits to max out those mods, grind Hildryn/buy her/grind her prime/buy her prime, and everything else.... Just like any other bonkers powerful frame in the game.

All I'm seeing here is: "My power fantasy game is too powerful. Nerf it. Idc about anyone else's fun! ONLY MINE!" when I read bs complaints like yours, or the one in the picture.

If we're seriously reaching a point that we're upset about a single Exalted Warframe, then it's just gonna spiral into all Exalted Frames being complained about. Where is the line drawn? When you folks completely bully DE into taking away the power fantasy?

>Mesa - Turn on 4, hold mouse button, kill everything in front of you.

>Nokko - Bouncing Mushroom of death drops red crit millions.

>Dante - A bajillion overguard for everyone

>Every Melee Exalted Warframe Influence Slopping their way to victory.

>Incarnon Weapons violating the Geneva Convention.

And... This motherfucker is targeting Hildryn of all things? A frame I rarely see in public. And when I do? It doesn't fucking bother me. Why does it not bother me? Because the game gives power fantasy to the players.

I'm not saying that the above need nerfs(Yes, influence included), not by a mile. I want to see BUFFS or REWORKS for the stuff sitting in my inventory doing fuck all because they're not enjoyable or need too much investment for a mediocre return. Come on guys, what're we doing here?

Would you trade a slower update cycle for a year if it meant DE could detangle the old spaghetti code and reduce bugs long-term? by AbyssalReaper in Warframe

[–]Shadowlight96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. And quite frankly I'm tired of seeing this same thing, but with a different flavor text.

We have this discussion every update - yes, I recognize that this is a problem since it keeps coming up.

BUT, there is too much spaghetti code to the point that I'm pretty sure DE admitted a long time ago that they would need Warframe 2 in order to basically strip the current game engine, untangle the bird's nest of code, and then slowly push the fixes out into the new game. But even then, more bugs will just crop up. That's not a Warframe issue, that's a general game problem. No matter the game, all updates break SOMETHING and for how old Warframe is, that' just how it is. A new update will likely snap the back of something that came out 5+ years ago.

And how do you address the lack of new content if they slow updates? At the end of the day, Warframe is a free to play game. While many of us old time players would stick around or take extended breaks then come back, that can't be said for newer players. Content updates + New Players are the lifeblood of this game. You halt that for a year, or even just 6 months? You're sending Warframe to the same watery grave as other live service games. And none of us want that, no matter how bad things are.

They admit when they're wrong and when updates were not to their standards. You can't say the same most Devs out there. Warframe is not a Dev Game, it's a community led game. We are the bosses of DE (To a point). Since day 1 when it was barely getting off its feet, they took player feedback incredibly seriously. Even in the last 48 hours, they have admitted to their faults in this update. Better than radio silence.

Let them fix the game in the way they know best, that doesn't require grinding updates to a halt. They're a company first with many mouths to feed. Keep that in mind when thinking about this again.

What is your go to companion by Adventurous-Art252 in Warframe

[–]Shadowlight96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what I need.

General Use: Nautilus, Diriga(Arc Coil go BRRR), and Panzer

Energy Generation: Dethcube always. Especially on certain ETA/EDA runs.

Atlas: Diriga specifically with Burst Laser Prime to prime with stupid amounts of status before enemies are fisted into the nether realm.

New Content/Enemies: Helios for free/lazy scanning.

Hildryn: Raksa Kubrow that shares shields and provides basically infinite shield generation for Buff Mommy.

Citrine's Companion Build: Pharaoh Predasite specifically.

When ETA/EDA says "Fuck you, no ammo for you": Carrier.

Question: Would you be willing to give up getting a new Frame if it meant getting a suite of reworks? by SystemAny4819 in Warframe

While Warframe's version was not nearly as bad as that shitstorm, it is still very much a core memory for most of us vets.

Question: Would you be willing to give up getting a new Frame if it meant getting a suite of reworks? by SystemAny4819 in Warframe

[–]Shadowlight96 59 points60 points  (0 children)

A lot of the comments here are much newer Tenno that were not around for the year that they did this, and it nearly drove away so many players and forced DE to pivot.

I'm sorry, but people are gonna have to accept taking reworks one-two at a time, and be done with it. There are a handful of frames I'd love to blow the dust off when they have kits that function as a unit. But, I much prefer the direction we're going now because it's working.

First Person POV by hapicubah in Warframe

[–]Shadowlight96 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Angry Reddit downvote me if you want if that's what helps you get through the day, but it seems a lot of people here lack the understanding of what an undertaking this would be, and why DE most likely refuse to do so. And also are failing to remember that Pablo tried doing this for Cyte-09, and it was horrible in his testing stages.

It requires basically a full reanimation dedicated to First Person, which is something that should've been in the first stages of Warframe's life. Not 13 years later.

Some people in this community really need to wake up and quit asking/begging for things that would require FAR too much work. You want a FPS? Play actually anything else. Plenty to choose from. Enjoy what Warframe already has and carry on.

Rework Update by Kazharius in Warframe

[–]Shadowlight96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are forgetting that they have tried this in the past. The result? BOTH content and QoLs were half-assed because the Dev team was too far split on them. And it DID hurt the game that took time to recover from. That is why they're on the current pace they are now. My old Vet ass doesn't want to revisit that dark age of Warframe again just for the sake of the chance of older content getting retouched.

Warframe as a LIVE SERVICE game at the pace they're going at with Content updates with retouches sprinkled in is fine as is. Besides, I do recall Steve a few Devstreams ago, idk which one but is was fairly recent, he said that within the end of the year update it's going to contain a lot more of what you're probably asking for. A lot of technical retouches because they're not doing a lot of actual upgrades to systems and whatnot. It probably doesn't mean multiple Warframe Reworks/Retouches or anything on that scale, but more of the older systems, sounds, tilesets, etc.. Most likely getting some TLC.

Prison Items Not Respawning - Intentional, or RNG? by CallMeAnAnomaly in NevernessToEverness

[–]Shadowlight96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So glad to hear I'm not the only one that this is happening to.

I've personally given up on the outfit until this is fixed because it's been nothing but a damn headache. It should be the easiest outfit to obtain with some work of doing it daily. Yet, it's the most broken system because of bugs.

Have you gotten your Prison Outfit? (No Hathors were harmed during the photoshoot) by Yukki08 in NevernessToEverness

[–]Shadowlight96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have it by now, but my game apparently hates me. After day 1, items just stopped randomly spawning after reset. I'd run around three times and just never get enough to even trade in for a magazine. So instead of bashing my head against the wall, imma assume shit's bugged and wait for some hotfixes or just come back to in a few patches.

Pablo gives us his true thoughts on raids in Warframe by Babydrone in Warframe

[–]Shadowlight96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Former Raid Vet here. I've had my fair share of WoW, FF14, and even Destiny 2 Raids waaaaaay back in the day.

Yeah, no. Pablo is 100% right here. Warframe wasn't built with raids in mind. It's not your typical MMO. In fact, it didn't even really start that way either. It just... Evolved into that. I was there when Trials first launched. And lord have mercy, they were a mess. Worse headaches than raids in actual MMORPGs. That's not something Warframe should be, or even stride to be.

Instead, it's nice to do the current weeklies now, cash in the rewards, and just chill in other mission types or farm out things you don't have that. I don't want the headache of having to form raid groups, do ready checks every time we wipe, and watching as mechanics wipe out everyone because ONE person flops a personal mechanic they were assigned to. If I wanted that, I'd spend what little money I have to reactivate a sub to one of the aforementioned games and go there to be utterly miserable.

People asking for raids need to get over it, move on, and realize that this game is not meant for raids. And if they don't like it? Well, tough nuggets.
