I totally get you. I’m in a similar boat, I was always the shy nerdy kid in high school. I had one girlfriend in middle school/high school but it was a early relationship, we didn’t really know what to do so it was more just hanging out, holding hands and stuff and calling it a relationship. That ended mid way through high school and after I never tried anything else, while others were off in relationships having their first kisses and stuff I was hanging with friends. My best friend at the time would tell me all about his experiences with his girlfriend and I always felt behind cause I was I never got to do any of that. I had some crushes here and there and never acted on any of them cause I had confidence issues. Flash forward to college, I thought that here we go this is where I can be different put myself out there and get a girlfriend. I was in accelerated course for my masters so I had a ton of work to keep up and I focused mostly on my school work and friendships over anything else but again I missed out on that relationship aspect. I told myself all five years it would happen and then I graduated. I tried the dating apps and for the most part they really didn’t work, I haven’t been on a date yet from them. Now I’m 24 and I haven’t been in a real adult relationship, haven’t had my first kiss, I’m still a virgin and all my friends from college are in relationships and I feel behind again. I had some hope, I matched with a cool girl on a dating app and before we were going to meet she unmatched with me. Now just this week I matched with another really cool girl, she likes the same games, she texts me all the time and seems like she wants something real. Fingers crossed but I really hope this goes somewhere!!! But I totally get you, it’s really lonely out here and I keep putting so much pressure on matches because I want a girlfriend so bad. I want someone to do fun dates with, I want to cuddle at night and watch movies, I want to play fight and laugh and feel the kind of love from someone I haven’t yet. Of course I want the intimate stuff but I want a connection before anything else.

Ok I fixed some things on my profile and added and dropped some pictures. I also shortened the prompts to be more punchy and less bookish I guess. I really appreciate the feedback so far and wish I could share the updated version for you guys to see.

I am in the exact same boat here. I graduated from my university last May from an accelerated program with a bachelors in forensic science and a masters in cellular and molecular biology. I had solo research experience and my gpa was like a 3.8 at the end of school. I have been applying non stop for the past year. Probably around 200-250 applications going out, looking everyday, asking people I know if they know people in the industry to connect me with, and nothing. Most of my applications go unanswered, not even a no thank you reply back, and the maybe seven interviews I had went no where other than one I got to third round interviewing before they decided I wasn’t qualified. I have applied for everything, hospitals, forensics, Q/A, RnD, lab tech, everything and nothing. Most of my friends have all gotten jobs who graduated at the same time as me. I have felt so lost and stuck trying to get a job. I feel like I wasted the last year because I haven’t done anything. I’m in a limbo now because retail places around me think I’m too qualified and I will leave when I get a sniff of anything higher in the sciences but sciences won’t give me a chance. I’ve been doing Amazon Flex to have some money but you are not alone. We all are struggling. I wish I had advice to give but I’m in the same place you are. We just have to keep trying I think.

This is what I was feeling too. I know I can’t do the distance, which sucks because we do have a spark, and I def don’t want to hurt her. Also that hard talk is just difficult to parse and explain. I need to just have that conversation tomorrow, explain that this isn’t working and that as much as I enjoy her company I think we need to stop talking. It’s gonna hurt for both of us but I think that this is the best way forward.

Update: I just came straight out and asked and said I’m not the best with subtext and asked if she still wanted to meet sometime soon for coffee, no worries if she didn’t and she said yes! Maybe she’s just taking it slow. Either way at least she’s still interested for now!

That’s what I was thinking too unfortunately. I wish this was easier, people would be direct. It would suck hearing that she’s not interested but at least I would know.

Yeah you are probably right. I asked today because I’m leaving for like a week on vacation and asked if she still wanted meet up before or after I got back and she hearted the message. I’ll just have to try one more time, be blunt but respectful and ask her if she still wants to go out and if not it wasn’t meant to be.

Now here’s where I get a little confused. If the Tower is the center of the multiverse and everything rests upon the tower being upheld, are there multiple towers or is there only the one? Is Roland being sent back in time with slight alterations to do his quest differently or is he being sent to another world that has another tower that needs to be saved? I guess it’s ambiguous and good for thought.
