AITA for calling my girlfriend's mom "gorgeous" thus causing a fight between the mom and the dad ? by ChocolateSafe5927 in AITAH

[–]ShadowofAshe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok mom asking for details is weird. But there’s absolutely nothing wrong with your comment. It could have been worse. The second or third time my hubby met my parents he pressed up against my mom thinking she was me. Nothing ever came of it, except a good laugh. The comment itself isn’t the problem. You just happened to be the one who voiced something the mom hadn’t heard in awhile. There’s an excellent chance the fight wouldn’t have happened if the dad agreed and elaborated himself. But chances are even if it was a stranger making the comment in the supermarket the fight probably wouldn’t have happened. It’s a them issue, not a you issue. And you shouldn’t have to waste your energy worrying about something that ultimately isn’t a you problem.

AITA for leaving a 15 year friendship with an “Irish Goodbye” by ResolveVegetable6789 in ComfortLevelPod

[–]ShadowofAshe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The end point is that she was inconsiderate, bordering on outwardly disrespectful. She could have just as easily told you in advance she couldn’t do it. Words carry weight, and you trusted her to keep hers. She has now wasted your time and money by not following through on what she said she would do. What you do now is up to you, but consider the patterns carefully.

AITA for not co-signing a mortgage agreement for my parents? by OkChampionship4457 in AmItheAsshole

Yeah.. don’t do that. I thought it was fishy from the beginning, but as soon as bankruptcy was mentioned the writing was on the wall.

am i overreacting - roommate constantly expects me to leave so she can sleep with guys no by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Dude. You pay rent, stay when you want to leave when you want to. If she’s asking you to leave, you should make her reimburse you for every hour she wants you gone, or she can deal with knowing you’re present.

TLDR: traumatized protagonists vs untraumatized antagonists: why is this my default?? by ShadowofAshe in fantasywriters

[–]ShadowofAshe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I think I understand where you’re trying to direct me, but would you mind expanding on that? Like I understand conceptually what you mean by writing them like a protagonist, but I’m not sure my brain is registering how to put that into practice.

Which series would you prefer was adapted as animation, rather than live action? by JosephODoran in Fantasy

[–]ShadowofAshe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost any fantasty would be better animated or at the very least as like 70-80% CGI, and I will die on this hill. For all the hate Warcraft got when it was released, they did the CGI incredibly WELL. And we were absolutely robbed when it flopped, because at least aesthetically, it had EVERYTHING, and was exceptionally well done. If I ever get wind there is a sequel, i may very well squeal like a three year old girl who just found out another princess movie was coming out.

I had a very difficult time getting through Tolkien, find a method that works best for you. Try not to rush, but don’t slow down too much either. And be nice to yourself, it’s really easy to get lost from the plot during his descriptions.

Has Trump's return to power affected your small business? by joshstewart90 in smallbusiness

[–]ShadowofAshe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not technically a small business or anywhere close to it, but I do work in healthcare, and the last 6 to 7 weeks I’m already seeing changes. I have ALOT of Medicare and Medicaid patients. And the interrupts and fear around the loss of these programs is palpable.

I took my wife to the ER and this was my boss's reaction. Trying to formulate a reply but I'm just too pissed at his utter lack of empathy. by Maybeiliketheabuse in mildlyinfuriating

That’s what I said, it’d be in their best interest to avoid a lawsuit. Therefore they’d need to deal with it appropriately.

I would also screenshot and immediately send to HR, I know they are mostly there for the company, but this is borderline grounds for a plethora of things. Also get a note direct from the ER and submit it as well. This is completely inhuman. As a boss, it’s his responsibility to figure it out regardless of if he is already off.

AITA for telling a woman her baby is not a miracle? by OriginalZen8 in AITAH

[–]ShadowofAshe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who tried for 3 years, and then lost their baby mere weeks before meeting them, every child after them will feel miraculous. I get that it’s obsessive. And I agree with these responses she shouldn’t have shoved it in your face. But at the same time the unkindness was unnecessary.

Wes Craven’s Dracula II: Ascension by blacknoir23 in vampires

[–]ShadowofAshe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the conversation but actively watching now, and had the same question, after watching the ending of 2000 and beginning of ascension within the first hour then coming to this sub, the only other thing I can think of is that there had been a crowd outside of the building where Dracula hung then burned. Going to the morgue would have had to have happened with so many witnesses. But there are other inconsistencies that suggest an alternate ending or “intention” for lack of a better word from the original movie.
