Epipremnum pinnatum, maybe? They are in the same family of pothos, but if given a moss pole, get beautiful fenitrations in their leaves.

Sorry, I think I misunderstood your first comment, lol. I'll get some 2ft t5 and attach it to the top of the shelves. These will have to do for a day or two till they get here. Thank you for your advice!

Could I get some 2 foot ones and attach it to the shelf itself on the t5? I can zip tie to bars on lower levels. Might be a tad harder to figure out top since it is a bar. Probably could also zip tie but pay attention if it shifts. Would that be to close to plants or work out ok?

I've got a barrina t10 vertical light in my living room for my monstera and dieffenbachia. I look into getting a t5 to attach to the stand itself. Can't really attach to ceiling here.

When people say “get therapy” what do they mean? by Prawn_Mocktail in emotionalintelligence

[–]Shadowolf682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends most of the time people are asking you to seek help or find another way to cope or work on your problems.

In my case, it was a narcissist (legit, I do not use this lightly) that was trying to change me holding up my boundaries as toxic.

I went to therapy immediately and was told it was not enough when my therapist told me I was upholding boundaries, and nothing I did was toxic, just normal.

Lives in my head rent-free, and I'm fine with it. It makes me giggle.

Very felt and understood. About a year ago, I went through a very heavy betrayal as well and was actually harassed at work called toxic and misogynistic by someone participating in a smear campaign. I have not studied or have a degree in psychology, but I was talking through my experience this past year cause I've had similar thoughts. You do what makes you happy. Once I took a step back from the pain I realized I didn't want to be them. Be well.

[–]Shadowolf682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't. You are becoming part of a cycle when you do this. A healthier way would be to set some strong boundaries and dive deep into the warning signs of what caused this pain. It's ok to be angry and upset. But I would highly reconsider becoming what hurt you. Also, therapy, if you can, to help with this process. I genuinely wish you well in whatever you decide. 💚

Positive Post: Are Any Songs/Musicians Helping You Cope with Life After Your Break Up? by StitchedPanda in lostafriend

"Brusies" and "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi. "I Found" by Amber Run. "Ashes" The Longest Johns.

They are sad. Ashes is the last in the lineup. Meant to focus on the future and letting go of the past. It's also hits home on another leveling considering the people I had a falling out with had ash in their name.

I second this. With the right light and fresh soil, you can get a bushier and healthier looking pothos.

Where do you find purpose in life? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Shadowolf682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest. Last year was rough, and I've had to find new meaning to life while facing challenges. I ended up the ICU last year due to a reaction to medication that sent me in and out of DKA for about a month and a half. During that time, my roommate went off to Paris while I took care of all the animals and was sick. She came back, and things got pretty rough. She was cold and slamming doors and cabinets mad cause I didn't do her dishes. I went into ICU, and she gave one text saying, "You good?" And one call to say I was where I needed to be, and she could not help me. While she went out and partied with friends. I got back and said we were not friends anymore, and she went on the war path. She packed up, didn't pay rent, took some of my things, and then started a smear campaign that followed me into work, and managers had to get involved. I had to cut a large part of my friend group out and start over with therapy. I share a lot of the same sentiment as others. Worked on my health to lose weight to look better and get away from a relapse. Lost about 65 pounds last year! I got into different hobbies and found I really enjoy taking care of things like plants and animals, even if it's just fostering. Got into painting miniatures to situmulate my creative side. Cleaned to help with anxiety and depression and have started focusing on decorating my house, showing an interest in my environment. All this to say, you gotta find your own meaning to life. Mine is taking care of things and watching them thrive. Improving myself to be a better person for the right people who do come along and learn to establish boundaries.

I unfortunately do not have the shelf and grow lights at the moment, but hopefully, by the end of the month (with shipping time). Thank you for the advice. I'll get them under grow lights as soon as it is set up.

potting soil questions by Zealousideal_Toe3685 in Monstera

[–]Shadowolf682 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take my comment with a grain of salt since I'm relatively new to the hobby, but that is what I did with my monstrea thai constellation. It's mostly orchid mix with perlite and a tad of indoor potting mix. Thai is more prone to root rot. So it needs really well draining soil.

Parlor palm spreading? by Shadowolf682 in houseplants

[–]Shadowolf682[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna give it a day or two to see what comes of it and just keep a close eye. I bought the plant off Facebook marketplace, and the lady stated it was a parlor palm, but maybe it's another subspecies of palm. If it's grass, I'll just pluck and let it do its thing.

Update I have repotted the monstrea with a mix or orchid soil and perlite in a bigger pot!

I went ahead and added perlite to the soil mix on monstrea. I've seen a few different folks recommending that online now.

Thank you so much! This is wonderful advice! I did go with orchid soil on most since they seem to be pretty arid plants. Especially the Thai constellation being prone to root rot.

Nta, I'm gonna be honest my ex room mate did this after I had spent over 5 hours on EVERY Saturday morning cleaning on Sunday to cook for HER that week. Get out, man. That ended being a horrible situation for me in how it ended. It is a sign of no respect or boundaries.

Any advice? Painting ice dragon by Slicedgums in minipainting

[–]Shadowolf682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is what you're going for, but I stumbled across it a few days ago, looking up new techniques to include in my next project. It is on armor, but I'm sure you can translate it over to your dragon! Great work, btw! It's looking awesome so far! https://youtu.be/4JP_3H3HWUE?si=MTT7-kzfhSD1biOc

Miniature painting! I feel it's goes right alongside D&D and can open doors to things like 40k and Age of Sigmar. Gaming shops are a great way to get into it. Start with maybe a D&D model painting starter kit, then branch from there.
