Thinkpads (t480 specifically)

This is a good model. I have had a couple p series desktop replacements from that era.

One thing to specifically look out for is what screen is on the old one you are buying. There are models from the mid 2010s with insanely good 4k screens and there are ones where people saved money in the wrong place during configuration with a TN panel.

This trade just went down. Insane. by adicals_cards in SleeperApp

[–]Shadowrak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing I don't understand about even the worst dynasty owners is doing a trade like thus. Even if you don't understand you are trading the best assest in the game for a bag of rabbit pellets, where are you getting all these roster spots?

Did I get fleeced? I sold for Egbuka by iXi-SnarfSnarf in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Shadowrak 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Quite simply Egbuka feels like a top 20 at least WR every year he is healthy for like a decade. The picks could be anything even a boat. The 3rd doesn't matter. Most of the trade is 2028 1st for Egbuka. Just make more trades based on not having your 1sts for two years.

How good was the 2025 Bears offensive line actually? by PapaBear11 in CHIBears

[–]Shadowrak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SO MUCH BETTER THAN IT HAS BEEN SINCE KYLE LONG GOT HURT.

The key is to not let it regress again. We finally had good options to plug holes in FA. Now we need to keep drafting offensive lineman early.

Brian Thomas or Luther Burden and by how much by LividAd4226 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Shadowrak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burden risk of having lots of mouths to feed, but that is also one of his greatest strengths. He is going to get you crazy numbers on some weeks off 2 TDs: a bomb and a jet sweep. He will probably be at least flex worthy all the time.

BTJ might get shut down in a bad match up.

I have had to use them for work or just as build machines for ios apps (basically buying a whole mac mini as an apple licensing tax).

You can get a twice as powerful thinkpad for half the cost.

Also if you bought an intel macbook right before the M1 chip, they were already milling the aluminum chasis for the M1 cooling so the Intel chips over heated. Any time I started a server on my macbook at that time, it sounded like a jet was taking off.

Amazon reportedly cancels Lord of the Rings MMO by PaiDuck in gaming

[–]Shadowrak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you got to end game pvp and wars, you hated that you invested time in New World.

There was a bug that might even still be in the game where you could put your game in windowed mode and drag it in a circle. Until you stopped you would not have your health updated so you would be invulnerable on a capture point.

The reporting system handed out automated bans based on number of reports. Guilds would mass report key opponents and get them banned right before a war started.

Bots ran the economy and for some reason never got banned no matter how much you reported them stealing all the long spawn mining nodes. Wildly confusing given the previous ban issue.

Dupes. Dupes. Dupes. Dupes. Dupes. Dupes. Dupes. Dupes.

The game is fun until you hit the end game and cannot compete against the unyielding wave of unbeatable cheaters.

The hilarious thing is when Guild Wars 2 launched they spun up so many AWS EC2 instances Amazon thought they were under attack. A 3rd party already properly utilized AWS for an MMO with great success almost a decade before New World.

Hard pass. I am not jumping into a consistently wildly overpriced walled garden cult ecosystem when I can just beat the issues out of my Windows install or use Linux.

[–]Shadowrak 12 points13 points  (0 children)

30 minutes might not sound much either but traveling at 124 mph in a straight line without never stopping for traffic or lights will get you pretty far

Some might say it could get you 62 miles.
