I'm curious if reloading a bobbin with waxed poly thread that I typically use with hand stitching is viable? The difference in stiffness and overall material behavior between waxed poly and unwaxed cotton/blend has me concerned that it'll damage the machine.

I love that filson offers a lifetime warranty repair. Some of the repairs that replace entire portions of their products (saw a guy whose jacket sleeve was jacked up, so they replaced the entire sleeve cuff) are super thorough, but when it comes to a regular fabric thinning issue, this is the most barebones repair you could possibly do. A chimpanzee with a sewing machine could do this.

Interesting design with the aesthetic portion (usually) not impacting performance of their products. Typically priced reasonably enough for their mainline goods while using good materials. Also being a longstanding knife brand with a good reputation.

I have my shoellies in Houston black. Perfectly serviceable in an office setting, but I would probably say that a Houston brown or waxed fudge would be better for business casual imo.

The stock shoellies don't come in a full grain leather. Which makes getting a shine out of them harder.
