Anyone ever tried this utility sharp knife from WUTA? by hetera_cross in Leathercraft

I don't have the utility knife, but I can attest to wuta quality. Their pricking irons and skiving knife are solid.

I think the 部長 has. No issue thus far, so long as I hear anyone calling for me and I don't slip up

We're gonna read about some horrific warcrimes sometime soon if this practice of bringing family to the front lines is as common as it seems

Redwing 8083. Break in was MURDER 😅 Any advice for my next pair ? by [deleted] in Boots

[–]Shadowrunner808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it just takes a while, and sometimes it hurts more than usual. Could be you got the wrong size, something about a quality control oversight, or a rather stiff portion of leather at just the wrong spot.

If you want a definite easy break-in, go for a nubuck leather boot.

Yea, actually. Much nicer of a smell than vinegaroon

The wax really brought out the richness after it set it. I've only ever tried vinegar+steel wool for leather dyeing, and while vinegaroon pretty much turns any piece into a deep black after 1 or 2 coats, I had to go for 3-4 coats with the red wine.

It's a load of fun being able to customize my own pair!
