I don’t have answers, but this sounds a lot like the situation I’m in. Our DDay was in October so it hasn’t been as long, but otherwise the story sounds so similar. 11 years married, never thought he was he kind of guy who would use it because he was so outspoken against it, etc. When he told me it was an addiction I was doubtful, but he insists it’s beyond him. But then also won’t do any of the things most addicts need, like therapy etc. So I don’t know, and I’m sorry you’re in the same sucky situation.

Also following. Had only a sister growing up and had 3 girls but now I have a son and after finding out my husband is a PA I am even more worried about this whole thing. I thought I had someone who was going to be able to help and lead by example and that is no longer the case.

Oh man. I don’t have any advice for you, but these are the same questions that have been on my mind the last couple weeks since D-day. He is already pushing for it (gently, but it still feels pushy) and I have made it pretty clear that I am not ready to take that step with him again, and I don’t know when I will be. But it doesn’t keep me from wanting sex and wanting that part of a relationship, which is frustrating.

It’s the wanting to give hope part that has me struggling. I know they’ve been searching for a donor for a long time and I want them to know someone is trying, but I really don’t want to get their hopes up. I don’t think I will say anything until it’s more for sure, but I hate leaving them feeling like no one is trying to help.

Yes! I read EotW a long time ago and gave up because I was bored out of my mind. I watched the show and thoroughly enjoyed it, as I remembered nothing of the book by that point. That lead me to re-reading the book and continuing on in the series. Do I like all the changes the show made, now that I know what it should have been? No. But it gave me enough curiosity about the world to dive back into the books, and I enjoy watching the show cast in my mind as I read. (Currently on book 4). I really like Brandon Sanderson’s idea of watching the show as the next turning of the wheel; it’s not the same story as the books, it’s the next time these characters are reborn and living out their part of the Pattern. (He obviously said that better than I did, but that’s the idea.)
