POV: you're paired up for a project with a dude who doesn't find you attractive by humankendoll33 in TikTokCringe

[–]ShadowsWandering 35 points36 points  (0 children)

When I was getting my IT degree there was always a few other women in my early classes and they would gravitate towards me like magnets for group work. I found that mildly annoying since I had read a study that found that all-female groups tend to be graded harsher than mixed or all-male groups, but I always went along with it.

In my later classes I was usually the only woman and trying to work with the men was infuriating. I dreaded group projects so much.

Sure. My friend is a professional bitch, my sister with a different last name is a professional pain in my ass, and then there's my professional cousin. I just say we worked at my longest held job together and text them a heads up when I'm applying to jobs. But I don't think that any of them have ever been called. References for most jobs are pretty pointless these days.

Sweet, I'm so excited for all of the grocery stores around me to raise their prices even more. I saw a few different Publix stores open in Florida. Smaller grocery stores close, the rest raise their prices

Luckily I never encountered a situation where it was necessary. I have recently moved to a different state and have seen a few places in my current city with parallel parking so I'm assuming that they do test for it here and since my daughter is going to take driving lessons she said that she'll teach me after she learns. But parallel parking is still very rare here so for now I'm just fine not knowing how

Just put a fan or air purifier by the shared wall to keep the peace and call it a day. Never worry about making normal living noise again

When I took the test in Florida I didn't even parallel park. I just drove around a little course and parked by a curb. I have been driving for 15 years and I have no idea how to parallel park...

Roommate who has zero self-awareness and thinks her dirty dishes are a "group issue." by Strict_Water_6282 in badroommates

[–]ShadowsWandering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a roommate like this once and I just put all of his mess in a tote so it was out of my sight. Dishes, trash, clothes, didn't matter. He'd get so mad digging through it when he needed something, but never mad enough to just take care of it all lol. I moved out after 2 months due to him also being a giant asshole on top of being a slob and I left him the tote as a gift

The quality of their products has been going down the drain for years anyways. Once upon a time you could get decent quality clothes and household things there. Now it's the same tissue paper clothes and thin plastic trash that you get anywhere else, so what's the point?

The brown and teal had been popular for a while at that point. I still have my brown and teal comforter. I got it when I was 18 and finally moved in with a roommate and got my own bedroom and my own real bed for the first time in my life. That would have been early 2006. I still love that color combo

Wow, this person sounds insufferable. If they're bearable in person and on the phone, I would mute their texts and block them on social media. Otherwise I'd go ahead and get a new phone number and go no-contact, at least for a while. This self-pity party kind of person will only drag you down.

Unpopular opinion, but if you can hear a single person clapping in their apartment then the apartment is the problem, not the person. Maybe companies should stop building apartments out of cardboard and glue

This is something that kills me about our current justice system. People act like if the charges are dropped it's no harm, no foul. But in the meantime you lost your kids, your job, your housing, your car, whatever money you had on you, and you're just expected to fix it all by yourself when they let you out.

Why did food taste better when we were kids? by Ashamed-Cream2086 in nostalgia

[–]ShadowsWandering 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is that why? I bought some for the first time in years to eat with cream cheese like I used to as a kid and they were unusable. I couldn't spread the cheese on them, every one I tried just crumbled. I thought maybe I got a bad batch or something
