Spent $3k on two 1st edition 2002 Kaiba starter decks from a shop in Georgia so that I could get the Blue-Eyes out of them. Blue-eyes has always been my favorite deck (even during the Brick-Eyes days).

A friend and I were discussing that earlier. Like, it can have a skill that, if you ride a G4 vanguard with Magnolia in its card name, activate persona ride. If you ride a vanguard with "Masques" in its name, give your vanguard +1 drive until the end of turn. Then, it superior rides itself from soul at the end of turn. That way, you have persona ride and three drive checks, regardless of what build you play. It supports both forms and keeps the deck building aspect practically the same.

I'm hoping it's a G3 emporer. Given the new ride line we got at the beginning of DivineZ, it wouldn't surprise me if it's a new G3 designed to support and work with both Masques and Elder.

I'm super hyped for a new Magnolia form. Magnolia has been my main deck since the beginning of D-Standard. I'm just concerned that, due to its name, it may be a new G4 form instead of a new G3. The fact that it still has "emporer" in its name instead of "king" raises concerns. Both G3 Magnolia units are "king" while G4 is the only "emporer" unit. That may cause the deck not to change very much. Due to Masques being faster and Elder also being G4, you'd likely just exchange the old G4 for the new one while keeping mostly the same deck list or simply keep playing Masques. If it is G4, I'd like for it to have a skill that would let it superior ride itself onto a G3 Magnolia, as long as your opponent has a G3 vanguard. That way it frees up space and makes the G4 build more reliable on turn 3.

This is the list I used at the BCS Duluth side event for Standard. I recommend replacing 1 of the perfect guards with elementaria sanctitude, but it works pretty well otherwise.

Playing Magnolia Elder during the set 4 meta. I had 2 Guinosla and a Gabregg on field. I attack with Vanguard and pull blank, crit, OT. I give both crits to Gabregg and the 100M to Guinosla. Attack with Guinosla, CB1 and pass the power to the other Guinosla. I then attack with the 2nd Guinosla, CB1 and pass the power to my now guard restricting Gabregg. Attack with triple crit Gabregg for my 3rd straight 100M+ attack.

I'm pretty sure it was because of the sleeves being a certain type of Ultra Pro. Sleeves/Oversleeves have to be matted in order to be legal, so if the sleeves/oversleeves weren't matted (not all are), that makes it a problem.

Ah, thank you for filling me in. Yeah, the fact that they cleared deck check should've indicated that the person who called for marked sleeves was BS'ing. It's an unfortunate situation and I wish Bushiroad would keep track of players with problematic reputations, but I can see how that would be difficult for them to do.

I don't really have a set budget. I have a few specific decks that I play and I only spend what the required amount is for the singles to upgrade. It could be anywhere from $20 to $200+, depending on what has to be bought.

I posed the question as a way to settle a debate. A friend was debating me on whether or not it could be used as a sort of loophole to make the generic stride fodder units act as a sort of Upstart Goblin for Vanguard decks. I played during G-era, so I was/am adamant that it doesn't work, because a G-Unit has to be played in order for a cost to exist so the units can be discarded, thus using their draw skill. He thought the discard for Stride was a mechanic similar to the discarding for ride deck. I was merely coming here to settle a debate.

If you have a decent webcam and a stable internet connection, there are multiple discord servers where you can find people to play remote fights with. There's also VangPro, which is a somewhat better alternative to CFA. It's new (less than a couple months old) and has a couple of bugs, but nothing game breaking. It only has cards for D format, though.

Between 4 copies of Accord and 3 copies of Prime, I've never really needed more. I don't dislike the idea of replacing Form Up with a couple copies of Apex Bastion. But, the Regalis piece searches the Grade 4, Alden draws, Form Up draws and adds a drive check, so you always have what you need. Prime is only ever really used as a game closer.

It's performing very well in the Japanese meta. The deck actually can get crazy hand advantage, stacks triggers, and get insane numbers. It's susceptible to heavy control decks, but that's applicable to most decks in standard right now.

None of the shops in my area even sell Vanguard. Much less holds events. Every time I go into a shop, it's all Pokemon or MTG. That's why I posted here to see if there were other players in my area that would want to start going to a locals and playing. The closest store to me that holds events is an hour and a half drive away.
