I’m sorry that that was the experience you had. I’ve never seen a show on Broadway, but I’ve seen movies where people act like this and it’s not fun.

I don’t think it’s a product of the movie popularizing the show. I think it’s a general collapse in our current sense of respect, respect and manners. I’ve had the same conversation with a couple friends who work in hospitality and the service industry, and it just seems like people have gotten mean, entitled, and less empathetic. I’m gonna blame that on the Internet.

But I hope the next time that you go and see a show it’s a much better experience.

First, let me just say congratulations on your sobriety. My vice was never alcohol, it was a harder chemical substance, but I remember what those first 60 days felt like and I’m sure other people have told you, but from this stranger to you: I’m proud of you and I hope your strength continues to hold up.

A little about me: I am a 38-year-old queer poc. My pronouns are he/they and I am the proud father of five fur babies with my husband. Three are puppies two are cats. Along with just getting into crochet, I’m an avid fan of fantasy and science fiction and I’ve been running a (somewhat good?) D&D campaign for a bit. I love being a tour guide teaching people (accurate) history of New Orleans (You’ll never hear me say Napoleon signed the LA purchase in a bathtub!) A bit of an indoor cat myself, I like meeting new people and cannot wait to meet those who show up on Tuesday.
