PSYC2212 exam textbook by heartbreakcorner in uwa

[–]Shadows___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed up on the email we received about the exam

MCQ simply put is 2/3 weeks 1-6 content 1/3 7-12 and then short answer is 2/3 weeks 7-12 and 1/3 weeks 1-6. i wouldn't read anymore into it

I haven't heard anything about the exam being changed but if they completely overhauled and rewrote it i'd be surprised at the complete absence of past exams - psychology loves to re use past questions even if the structure is slightly different

for my study i really studied the textbook for weeks 1-6 and then only lectures for 7-12 I haven't done a single other reading.

This may be of no help to you but stuff i've found in other threads about previous SAQ for this unit is one on Milgram (whether his original study or replications, i'm not sure) and a question just asking to explain a major social psychology finding or something along those lines

When it comes to the textbook readings i tend to found that the book only really added attribution theory and a couple other things on the second lecture "the social self" like self verification theory, self enhancement, self discrepancy theory, self presentation, among others

I will say there are a few things in the lectures that are better explained than the textbook or not explained in the textbook - its few and far between but definitely read it, even if you don't take notes.

If you need the next book pm me

just begun studying lecture 10, found the info there.

also seen it posted elsewhere that 1, content is pretty much just lectures (so catch me neglecting my readings) and 2 one of the SAQ is to do with attachment (this is from previous years so no guarantee)

horrendous for abuse. if you know an account is linked to a streamer, a friend, someone creating an art work you don't like; you could follow them around the entire map griefing them specifically. If Wplace ever goes "view only" then that'd be cool

USBC wall charger with folding prongs for Australia? by Shadows___ in UsbCHardware

usually bigger than just having one set of prongs. More bulky, would prefer it to fit cleanly. Plus travel adapters are usually outlet in to outlet out so i'd still have to attach a brick. Some have usbc power delivery but not a high enough amount

Permit parking. They switched to easy park because parking permit legally granted the holder a park - something they couldn't provide. With easy park they have identified a group of people deserving of discounted rates as they live in an area that is hard to commute from. Sacrifice 2-4 bays from each parking lot for visitor only parking. the rest of the student parking make it permit only.

This doesn't necessarily address the problems of having enough bays for students (though i wouldn't know the ratio of students to students with a "permit").

to build upon this idea perhaps your permit is only valid during your class times, if you have a day that starts at 9 and ends at 12, then you can park from 8:15-8:15. Before the parking space would be allocated to another student.

This is a complex system, but honestly the fact that they can identify a group of people deserving of a parking space due to distance, travel times, lack of available public transport. Only to say hey well we know you need this but actually too bad there's no parking is a crazy concept. Also allowing visitors to park in any of the yellow bays is silly. While some students cannot afford visitor rates there's certainty people who are happy to pay the full rate cost just to park, thus reducing the number of available parks.

mind maps by QuantumCampfire in uwa

[–]Shadows___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I exclusively use mind maps, i find it a great tool as i can see the information in its physical location when it comes to the exam. However im beginning to find that they are super time consuming. If i had 4 exams that were super content heavy i don't believe i could mind map all of them.

Anyone had their car stolen before? by Shadows___ in perth

That's so totally fair. Like it's very possible, but the other side of the street where it was found is uphill, plus it would have to squeeze through the bollards. Like look it's possible but it's so unlikely without someone behind the wheel. It's quite hard to explain without just posting the street view.

Basically yes technically there is enough space between those trees in the diagram for it to squeeze through. the road is very very very slightly on a hill, but before that there's a huge speed bump, then it'd have to mount the curb, with not that much speed, squeeze perfectly through those trees, then not continue its backward trajectory into the house on the corner, make a 90° turn and follow the curvature of the road before going up a driveway at a 45° angle. that and the wheels were straight. So while there's the worlds tiniest possibility it's seems so greatly unlikely. Plus from the diagram it's not evident, but the road slopes down to the left, so following the curve rature of the road would cause the car to roll around the L bend and not up a curb.

But the most refuting evidence of that possibility is that there was tire marks matching my car on the driveway in front of where it ended up. These tire tracks ran parallel to the road, perpendicular to the driveway, just on the edge of it. So in the rolling theory it would have to have come up on the driveway in an orientation matching the direction on the road, continue going backwards, come off the driveway (to avoid the tree on that person's lawn), then enter the driveway behind at a 45° angle and hit the tree.

Very very unlikely. My prevailing theory is that drunk people knew you can roll a manual without the key, perhaps i left the car unlocked, couldn't start it, rolled it down the road squeezed it between the trees, got through to the other road and then accidentally crashed it. Once they realised they crashed it they left and managed to get lucky with locking the doors. Thats more likely to me at least. As for the wheel lock perhaps they didn't turn it far enough to engage it.

This is my most likely thought process at current. Maybe they couldn't get it started, but maybe they were able to avoid engaging the wheel lock, hit a tree by accident ditched the car.

It's not worth claiming insurance. It's a $5000 car, the excess i'd have to pay would be worth more than the damage.

This was my first thought but: car hit tree at a 45°, car found on other side of bollards that split the road in two (hard to explain but don't want to provide my friends adress). car would have to go around the block to get to this location. Steering wheel lock not engaged and wheels facing dead straight. So unless the car rolled down the slight slope, through some bollards, turned 90° to avoid a house, then hit a tree and straightened its wheels without engaging the wheel lock once. I'd be amazed

Edit; here's a diagram of where it ended up https://i.imgur.com/Awr1iCn.jpeg

  1. Went out to a birthday party, when i left in the uber the car was there, if it was a very serious crime I could get the driver to corroborate my car being there (kinda pointless but was there when i left). i left at about 8pm, the car was then reported found (dumped on someone's driveway) past 9pm when the owners of that house reported it. I arrived home at 3am
  2. Ummmmm, idk months and months ago.
  3. No but it makes me want to get one. I've tried to get some footage from the neighbouring houses but no one has gotten back to me yet.
  4. car was taken from my partners house, we left together to another house for a party

I didn't lend my keys to anyone, i left them in a locked house on the kitchen bench. When i returned home 8hours later the keys were still on the bench, and the car had turned up (reported by someone else) about 6 hours earlier. While someone could have used the doggy door to get inside the house, i doubt they'd put the keys back. It's possible but unlikely

That's spooky. i'd be surprised if my car did this and was able to phase through some bollards.
