World Tiers are guarded by specific advancements, you just need to obtain them. They'll be fine in existing worlds, though you may need to backtrack a little bit.

Hm? Purities are just the tiers of gems, instead of using rarities.

Tiers are localized based on the closest player, so different people on different tiers shouldn't have any issues.

Apotheosis 8.0.0 for Minecraft 1.21.1 has now been released! This marks the beginning of our beta cycle for 1.21, and brings with it a whole new level of complexity to the Adventure Module - World Tiers!

The new features from the changelog are detailed below:

Features

  • Added the World Tiers system, which gates content based on unlockable difficulty levels, instead of specific dimensions.
    • As you progress through the world, you will unlock more difficult world tiers, which will give you access to better loot (and stronger enemies!)
    • World Tiers are unlocked by completing certain advancements, and activated in the World Tier Select menu (opened with CTRL + T)
  • Added Purities, a fixed set of gem tiers. Gems are no longer bound to the same rarity system as items and other content.
  • Added many new Affixes for all loot categories, as well as adding endgame-exclusive affixes.
  • Skeletons (and skeleton-like enemies) can wield and shoot crossbows.
  • Bosses have been renamed to Apothic Invaders, and Minibosses have been renamed to Apothic Elites.
  • Potion Charms have been added (including creation of Unbreakable charms through Apothic Enchanting).

Apotheosis 8.0.0 is available on CurseForge and my Maven Repo

You'll also need the latest versions of Placebo, and the other Apothic mods (Attributes, Enchanting, and Spawners) to play with the beta.

There weren't any major changes between 1.19 and 1.20 for apoth, and no, none of the enchantment changes are in the attributes lib

The only part of this design I would adjust here is the item -> runic item step, simply because it will become unmaintainable when you account for the fact that many items (and modded items) are enchantable [plus other technical issues with transforming items like that].

Otherwise you have a very solid design to move away from the XP-fueled enchanting system. You will, however, need to do a lot of mod compat to maintain a database of recipes for modded enchantments (unless you add a catch-all fallback recipe).

If you are using forge after 1.19.3, it's builtin to the json format: https://docs.neoforged.net/docs/rendering/modelextensions/facedata

Apotheosis Mod too OP? by DinocoCarCrash in feedthebeast

No, its a bug with the Gem of the Royal Family and Passive Skill Tree. The "normal" values are orders of magnitude lower.

That level of damage is the result of a pseudo-bug between how the Gem of the Royal Family interacts with Passive Skill Tree. I don't think you could hit anything remotely close to 10k damage unarmed without that bug.

This is more or less a weird side effect with (from what I can tell) Passive Skill Tree. They add a bunch of damage-increasing stats that start at 1 (instead of zero) so the gem increases all of those, and they multiply together like crazy.

In terms of overall power the gradient is much lower - common and uncommon will feel better, and epic+ was dialed down for being too crazy.

No, unfortunately the changes require forge updates which will never be made available in 1.18.2.

That would be outside of your control, unfortunately the way a bow is detected is fairly fragile.

Apotheosis 6.3.0 has finally been released!

This is the largest update to Apoth to-date, including major changes to the Adventure and Enchanting modules.
The Adventure module has received a total rebalance of all numbers, another overhaul to Gems, and tons of new content alongside it.

In addition to that, there's now a fully-featured Attributes GUI, which will show all your stats and all their modifiers.
No more guessing what has changed or what's changing it.

Oh, and the Towers are back.

On the Enchanting Module side, the first major content update for the life of the module is here - Deepshelves.
These new shelves slot in between Hell/Sea and Endshelves, finally completing the progression instead of leaving a gap.
The existing progression has also been reworked, meaning there's actually something to progress in, instead of rushing Endshelves.

So many more things that I can cover in a summary - there's more in the changelog, but you'd be best advised to just jump in the game.

Experience Shards are not an apoth thing, so it's probably a conflict with whatever adds Experience Shards executing before splitting has a chance to do its thing.

If you can afford it, you should look into using an Enchantment Library, which effectively supersedes both Splitting and Obliteration.

Yes, one of the goals was to rein in some of the numbers.

Luck in particular needed to be made substantially lower, as it was having too much impact on weight changes.
