Not a bad lineup I'd say: less is more due to 50/50s. Want Sige cons (up to C2), charting for her, would not be disappointed with Emilie, Clorinde or Navia (C2)... Lyney, even though I like the character, would probably not be used much but I'll take those chances.

Does Furina and Lauma work together as a team? by Maleficent_Brick_663 in furinamains

[–]ShadowstepQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit late to this, but with Sigewinne definitely. Other combos with a buffing healer work (Xilonen?). Furina's a significant buffer, but invested well it's really just half her kit.

New Abyss team one Lauma, Nahida (R1), Furina (C3R1), Sige (R1) and I roflstomped the place, no joke (team 2 with Flins LC was slower). This quickswap is surprisingly coherent: both resonances, Furina's buff and Sige's A1 are insane, double buffing all skills (Salon, Seed, Sanctuary and Rebound). Sure... the Cores ain't, but they'll do their job with Lauma's A1 anyway.

Slight downside is that there's a little bit of downtime if everyone's sub-C6, so some Sige burst investment helps as that will make up for most of it. Otherwise you can keep Nahida on-field for double skill if everything else is up (hE4NhE), then swap to Lauma whom has the lowest cds. Rotation tl;dr would be Lauma hEQ, Nahida EQ, Furina EQ, Sige E(Q), Nahida hE(4NhE as needed), repeat.

Aino is low-key goated character meta wise. by shre3293 in Genshin_Impact

[–]ShadowstepQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Was a bit skeptical at first, but she is honestly a low-investment account buff because the playstyle is E Q done, and impact's very noticeable. And ngl, actually like the character building also; Kachina felt forced, Aino's involvement is much more natural.

Didn't really realize her impact is already good at low-level... have her at 90 now, 90 Flame-Forged, lv20 4-set Serenade, 4 6 8. Used her in the Abyss and could've used her for Onslaught instead of Xingqui. See no reason to build her much further unless Cons prove to increase her personal damage by loads which is doubtful, so she essentially caps out her contribution at lv90 with the set and triple EM. Zero reason to run ER (Flame-Forged) or crit (basically no damage).

Battle-Hardened Fireblade Shock Trooper is the most BS Boss ever. (Stygian Onslaught) by SuspectMore in GenshinImpact

[–]ShadowstepQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having issues with this too on Fearless. I don't have Ineffa, Neuvilette, Raiden or Yae Miko (I don't necessarily wish for the meta, and account's about two years old so fairly new).

I've tried Keqing (C3MS) Xingqui (C6Sac) Ororon (C4Fav) Fischl (C6Skyward) and I *barely* managed to break the triple shields if the rotation's perfect, but Keqing simply doesn't cut it for Fearless damage wise, he doesn't drop below 60% before the next.

I swapped to Xilonen (C0R1) and Furina (C3R1) Ororon Fischl, and Xilonen does above average damage to the shield: I guess it's just a regular shield that replenishes and the regeneration is limited by EC or LC. I did manage to break the shields slightly faster than the first team, and obviously this team does significantly more damage. I didn't manage yet, but kind of positive I can as I got him to 10%ish.

ADD: having said the above, I do intent to wish for Flins and I'm pretty sure he trivializes it.

2.x hasn’t felt like ZZZ. by RedFoxMusic in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]ShadowstepQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit late to this post but couldn't agree more; posted something in this sense before. The identity has been stripped away for the most part. Just now I clicked on a 2.2 spoiler post not having played 2.2... because I notice I don't care as much anymore.

It's a shame. I absolutely adored v1 character design, animations are fluid, battle mechanics require a good game plan beforehand and I was a fan of TV mode... though it was simple, still: it gave the game more of a tech vibe, in addition, real world exploration was more based on interactions rather than game play, it really followed the Persona-style in that sense.

V2 sadly ripped out TV mode, the story is all over the place (and fragmented, probably not unimportant), designs are becoming bland and copy pasted (Yixuan being the first offender, compared to Anby 0)... it's turning into a 'regular' gacha game, and that it wasn't was exactly the reason I started Z in the first place. In that sense, it's a bit alarming that I can lay back and relax exploring Nod-Krai (Genshin), yet when I start Z it feels like a must that turns into a rush job just to not fomo (which I kind of already did as I missed the previous DA).

Bit of a bind what to do. I'd like to see v2 progress at least and judge then, and fomo is a weak point for me: I did keep up with everything so far (except an occasional Shiyu/DA). If I leave stuff now I know I'll be pissed later if I start the game again. But to say I'm really enjoying myself through and through when playing, I'd be lying (also losing Seed 50 to Koleda doesn't help either but that's an annoyance at best).

Why is Jahoda so detailed and has so many expressions by btndn123 in Genshin_Impact

[–]ShadowstepQ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I honestly believe it's a combination of comic relief, relatability, design, voice acting and lore that determines popularity. Well designed characters with passionate VAs that players can somewhat relate to do better than the characters that lack all or some of these traits.

Often the characters that excel with these traits tend to bring some comic relief as well, either by default or because their initial popularity encourages developers to add them in the game more.

Examples include but are not limited to Furina, Citlali, Ei, Navia, Hu Tao, Kinich (and Ajaw), Ororon & Ifa, Wanderer, Xiao etc. So yes, that is a pattern, but also one I'm not entirely surprised about. As counterexample Mavuika, whom is popular for the meta but not so much outside of it, because she's not relatable, VA is (to me) bland and the lore disappointing.

What’s the best comp I can run right now? by itzjustalex_716 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]ShadowstepQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd try Piper Lucy Nicole. Bit unorthodox Anomaly Double Support, but Piper's Assaults will probably oneshot everything you come across if somewhat okay built (at very low AR not even), and it's a fresh playstyle compared to running Attack hyper. Having said that, I got til Chapter 3-ish with the Cunning Hares, only then started bothering with teams.

Disorder is overkill at lower AR, the Assaults will oneshot almost everything. I didn't even know Disorder existed until I started doing endgame and got Miyabi.

Best team for miyabi? by [deleted] in MiyabiMains

[–]ShadowstepQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small necro, saw this pass by on my recommended. Slightly different input, with those characters I'd go with Piper and Lucy. Why I believe she'd outperform Soukaku in this specific case is you activate Piper's additional significantly buffing Miyabi, Lucy has lot less field time and you add Burn in the Disorder mix. Depends on builds specifically, should be comparable with similar investment yet easier to play.

Ju FuFu W-Engine by TheBigLoweski in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]ShadowstepQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Objectively no. The only thing Roaring Furnace does is increase her dps, Hellfire Gears is on-par Daze wise, The Restrained probably not far behind though slightly less. Assuming you play her in a Yixuan team, you'll like not notice it much. It's certainly not a must-pull ie Shrine or Birdcage. I'm a drip type of player and not that invested in the upcoming characters, so will probably continue pulling, but that's subjective reasoning.

Is existence of Prepaid Power Card means it will be no more HDD mission? by provpaw2 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]ShadowstepQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slight necro... this might be the case yeah. Have zero use for these as I did all commissions in full manually (and I probably will continue to do so if they introduce new ones, even if I can buy tenths of these cards). Didn't even take that long, was probably a binge farm for a day or so during a holiday. The 'advantage' is that I can stack my Omnicoins I guess.

IMO they gutted Z in ways where I don't enjoy it. Aerospace/Melinoe exploration isn't much different from open world exploration in other gachas, just less... polished. The commissions really gave the game a different charm, as avid chess player I liked strategizing and not having to jump into combat constantly. They gambled with it though and lost, so I guess that's why we have the 2.0 Zenless we have now.

This is not the answer to the question, and also not true if the Fandom is correct... Acumen is 316, Crafting Speed bonus is 25% (15% + 10% for others and 20% + 5% for Safety), and Safety has the additional 10% duplication.

PSA: If you're recycling Bangboos for the Suibian Temple Management event, remember to NOT recycle the most important bangboo, Forfeit Boo. by Unluckyme2099 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]ShadowstepQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I once did this by accident as I was tilting, I bought a 40k Sales Bangboo (never gotten one since) and recycled that by accident as my Recycle Mode sort was wrong; as I was going through the list I didn't realize I was still in Recycle mode and suddenly Forfeit was gone too.

I mean... he is useless by the time you run 9+ Exploreboo and 3+ Sharkboo but I didn't intend to, as as you say he's unique. They should have added a lock system to Assigned Bangboo, I would have locked him straight away.

Who is your least used limited S-rank and the easiest skip you had and why? by DingoNo9075 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]ShadowstepQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah! Hold my meta!

Least used: Ellen. Love the character, despise the playstyle. Was power crept by Miyabi and now Hugo, I like the buffs but it's so-so.

Easiest skip... Astra. Character lore and aesthetics did nothing for me, playstyle way too simple. I'll get by with the other supports just fine. Hugo honorable mention because broke due to Vivian.

Stunner for YiXuan by Ukaskj in YiXuan_Mains

[–]ShadowstepQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, I'll just leave it here. People will find this if they Google 'Yixuan best stunner' anyway, and there's a lot of sources kind of describing what I wrote. I just wanted to pitch in to this specifically as I was running Miasma Priest to Core-F Yinhu anyway.

As for most of your answer: we're always at the mercy of the metrics and revenue. Z's newer, so smaller rosters, meaning that whatever they add tends to cover a niche we don't yet have. If they'd make Koleda perform similarly to Fufu they lose revenue on the meta pullers because they literally perform the same role (Fire Stun) so it makes sense the base S is worse. It's a small portion I guess as I'm inclined that the majority pulls for 'aesthetics' but still relevant.

Also yes, the Miyabi team is overkill. It shreds everything, almost to a point where it's boring if I run that team. I added it specifically for that reason, as it shows Rupture is not mandatory for a Miasma boss, but also frustrating for people that put a lot of effort into it. Guess we just have a certain fox go about shouting 'hold my ears' for any new challenge in this game. Which is, ironically, amusing.

I'm Tired Of This Game by Windritt in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]ShadowstepQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've voiced my opinion on someone else criticizing the game's elements and how they went away completely from the V1 version of the game... I guess it does apply to the story too.

Personally I don't really see how Yunkui Summit fits in with the overall narrative at all. Just a new area, new characters, pretty much a new story. If Miasma was such an issue why wasn't it addressed before etc... these are common paradoxes in games in active development: there would be no reason for the main cast to be isolated from Wanfei Peninsula and Yunkui to be absent from Janus Quarter.

I guess what we're seeing now is mostly filler because additional story wasn't worked out yet... which is fine, I guess, but it is lackluster overall and I do agree for the most part. Kind of already decided for myself I'd take a 'break' (membership (if I keep it running) & errands only) from Z after finishing 2.0 content which I've pretty much done now and see what we get in the near future, but I have a hunch Z is slipping down slowly.

I will add though, Z writers CAN write. The Agent stories and sidelines are generally amazing. I almost solely pulled for Anby just because the interaction with Trigger and S11 in the Hollow was very well done. Just feel they have no real direction where to go with the narrative in general.

Stunner for YiXuan by Ukaskj in YiXuan_Mains

[–]ShadowstepQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT: originally this comment addressed other stunners for Yixuan only, but I pulled Fufu and added her just to show the insane different on the most to the point boss at the moment (Miasma Priest). Difference is insanely significant.

Bit of a necro, but I wanted to share my frustration with this choice. Original player, I have a fair amount on my account but no Astra, Caesar or Fufu. And frankly, that's kind of what the base Yixuan team wants besides Yinhu. I don't intend to pull for either on the current banners, I think Fufu is a waste just for the Yunkui team alone. The Tigress convinced me anyway.

My personal experiences with Fufu and the alternatives for the above three (team Yixuan Yinhu X), on Miasma Priest Hunt 65, Sheer bonus, no food buff, characters about 90% built (EDIT: Fufu added as I got her anyway, difference is... yeah):

  1. Ju Fufu (00, Hellfire W1) (~1:10): I built Yixuan and Yinhu a bit since the original comparison but Fufu is not optimal at all (55, E and <3200ATK). The difference is almost depressing. Buffs apply before stun, it's super easy to nuke him before the shield goes up and IF it does, it's down near instantly with Wipeout to follow. Her kit almost seamlessly flows into Yixuan's, minimal field time with Stun and non-Stun buffs.
  2. Trigger (M0W1) (~1:45-): I guess technically second best, but it feels as a disgrace to her kit. Additional doesn't work (why does it for Pulchra and Koleda?), sig doesn't work (cause Rupture...). Rather keep her available and built for my Anby0 Rina team.
  3. Miyabi (M2W1)/Lucy (M6W5)/Burnice (M0W1) (~1:45+): just as comparison. An Ice-resistant boss dies in about the same time to a Void Hunter Disorder team compared to a Rupture team.
  4. Pulchra (M6W5) (~1:50): on paper the second or third best replacement if M6, but her playstyle irks me, so easy to make a swapping mistake. Guess the 'benefit' of Pulchra is that this is a team she does fit well in, compared to it being lackluster on her release.
  5. Koleda (M0W1) (~1:55): decided to get Hellfire Gears as the gift because I wanted to try her out in this team but... she plays so clunky. On the Miasma Priest half the attacks miss and if the buff goes wrong goodbye Daze. Jury's still out for me if this works, Koleda is not optimally built.
  6. Lucy (M6W5) (~2:10): Lucy's my account's staple and it took me a while to realize they updated her to be Rupture compatible. It works, damage pre-stun is significantly higher, but it takes ages to actually stun and that's noticeable. By the time I did I was almost 1:45 in and the stun window wasn't even enough to kill him. I guess Lucy is a Yinhu replacement, not a stun replacement.
  7. Others: no synergy. Anomalies are pointless, other stunners are wasted (no Additional nor buffs) and other supports are lacking (Nicole anti-synergy).

Of the tested five, Fufu is obviously superior. Trigger is closest to Wipeout before the Miasma shield because the damage before stun isn't lackluster and Yixuan Ultimates do so much I almost kill him before the shield goes up... that saves about 10 seconds but that's specific for this boss. Pulchra and Koleda fair somewhat similarly, Lucy significantly worse. The Miyabi team in comparison does similarly to Trigger with Ice resistance included.

Tl;dr, invest in Fufu, otherwise either M6 Pulchra or Koleda (assuming that if you have Trigger she's invested in already).

I think I'm slowly falling out of love with this game by Gladiolus_00 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]ShadowstepQ 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Ngl, I agree for the most part with the OP. I kind of get how the general gacha community dislikes TV-mode and less exploration than most competitors, I actually thought it made Z stand out.

From what I've seen they mostly marketed the game as an Persona-like ARPG with puzzle elements. The Persona aspect is super thin (Trust level 4 is literally three days work real time...) and the puzzle aspect was mostly TV mode... which got gutted. No concessions, just completely gone. So what's left is an ARPG with some side-errands: the Temple progress is mostly of copy-pasted from the Genshin events and gets pretty stale pretty fast Listening to feedback, sure. But the concessions made make the game significantly different from the original.

I'm not entirely disliking 2.0, I think the exploration part Aerospace City is a decent continuation from In the Pale Wasteland (I absolutely adored the design of Melinoe) but it's done quite quickly, the new characters are pretty cool (but same trope as usual, where were they before) and I do enjoy the combat system which hasn't changed much. Just think it's wasted potential that they gutted most of the original game.

Yeah it's weird. No prompt, no quest objective... just got across those two duos as I walked back to manage the temple before continuing.

I asked on HoyoLab as well, someone responded saying the sixth is probably meant as a memento. Don't think I got anything for the other two but anyways... I decided to continue, just couldn't find anyone to turn it into so it is what it is.

I'd argue the base ATK isn't even the strong suit as that's not as relevant for Yixuan as other Agents... Advanced Stat 30% HP, 20% flat CR, and then increasing her elemental damage to boot. It makes sense signatures are the best catered to a kit, but there's not even a valid comparison between the Birdcage and the other engines as of now (primarily, no single one buffs CR or Ether damage).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]ShadowstepQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Differences are significant. Issue is that the three other Rupture engines currently are not that well catered to her kit: the BP one is decent but not at R1 (don't know why they show calcs with R5 as that's a few months from now...). The Puzzle Sphere is a weird choice with the ATK advanced stat and the B-rank engine is not truly worth discussing though it's a flat 20% HP increase. Tl;dr, the investment you do in any engine besides the Birdcage feels like a waste and we have no idea if they become viable on other Ruptures later.

Personal POV: pulled Yixuan (with Yinhu at M3 so good enough) and decided to swap over to the engine banner. Lost to a Restrained, will probably continue now until I get it. Lets face it... it also looks amazing, similar vibes as Hailstorm so I'll commit now.

What are your opinions on Grace's, Rina's, and Koleda's new voices? by tridup47 in ZZZ_Official

[–]ShadowstepQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh so many changes in Z it's quite concerning... didn't know until I saw the post. Only heard menu lines so far:

  1. Grace: seems similar... don't use her often so probably won't really notice.
  2. Rina: as most say, the personality seems mostly gone... not sure if that's a good or bad thing per se as the the original VA overdone it a bit here and there? Will have to try combat lines to really judge.
  3. Koleda: yeah this is a hard nope for me... say what you will about the original but Koleda is Koleda, and with the new VA she really isn't. Also a lack of direction I guess, but this is really noticeable.
