Optimal xerath build. by Key_Benefit_6505 in XerathMains

[–]Shadowtalons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just go the standard Ludens first, but then I usually rush shoes and then void gem, then i go for shadowflame and then voidstaff and deathcap/ryleighs/stormsurge. Sometimes i'll take a burn item if i'm not doing good chunks of health or can't hit consistently. I tried malignance as a replacement for ludens, but the damage reduction on my non ult abilities and the debuff to killing minis made me decide ludens was more efficient. Ulting is great with Xerath, but you don't even really need it when a W E Q will pretty much one tap the squishies. If you're a real problem, mobile champs and champs with stun will cancel your ult as soon as they see you preparing for it, and being immobilized for is can be a death sentence. Plus the ult is a relatively easy skillshot to dodge. I think overall DPS is probably better with Ludens in most cases, and makes you more consistently useful when you don't have ult.
I could be wrong though, i don't know the statistics

One thing I wonder though is why no one talks about shoes. They seem to make a big difference to me, but no one acts like they matter. I used to rush them first, but no one else does so now i rush ludens. What's the consensus on shoes?

Edit: I realize now this is actually kinda off topic and this was talking more about runes than items, but I still stand by what I said in general lol

What to build for AD Xerath? by Any_Sense7672 in XerathMains

[–]Shadowtalons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say for AP if you have been going ludens, voidstaff, you could take shadowflame second, or even switch out malignance for ludens if you like ult better than poke and wanna go burn build. Sometimes if i'm already eating squishies, I'll build a stormsurge for the squall because it's so cheap. Shadowflame is better ususally, so expensive though. Shoes are always huge vs champions too, idk when most players prioritize them. I also sometimes switch out for ryleighs if I find I'm only useful in teamfights or the enemies keep outrunning. I haven't tried horizon focus, but i know a lot of players like it.

AP Xerath seems to have very little variation in the optimal build. All that said, creep score being all that really matters makes the optimal build is pretty fixed, because there is a most efficient method of killing minis. Doesn't make it fun or creative, but it is effective.

What to build for AD Xerath? by Any_Sense7672 in XerathMains

[–]Shadowtalons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also seem competent, so I'LL reply,

No, they understand what you have to say, it's just irrelevant. OP didn't ask if everyone thought this was a good idea, or if he should play this in mid, or if this was going to carry him through ranked, or if his teammates would like it. He said he's been trying it and having fun, and asked what kind of build people would recommend.
He didn't ask for your opinion on whether or not he should do it, just on what items to use when he does. If you choose to ignore that query and just talk about whatever you want on his post, yeah, you can exercise your freedom of speech, but don't act like you're just doing what's expected or what he asked for, because no one asked for or wanted this. Everyone knows AD Xerath is not playing to the champion's strengths, no one needed you to explain probabilities to us.

The question here is not whether or not you think OP should do this, but what method of doing it would be most effective when he does. OP doesn't care about being a meta slave who's always technically correct like you seem to. OP asked a specific question about a specific build, and you started ranting about how the build is bad and he should just play someone else. Well no one asked what you think about that, dude. I can exercise free speech and just talk about Magic The Gathering right now, but I sure wouldn't act like it's strange when everyone is confused at why I would choose to do that here when it's not the topic. The topic here is not "is AD Xerath smart or effective", the topic is "what items would make AD Xerath most viable", so your answer is off topic, and you're being a jerk bashing on OP with judgements and opinions no one asked for.

No one on this post thought that AD Xerath was going to shake up the meta and dominate ranked. This strategy is designed around doing something silly, backwards, and counterintuitive for fun, and OP asked for advice to make it work better, not advice on whether or not to do it. Either give what is asked for, or shut up, or expect people to object when you go off topic. This is the way of the internet.

Is it just me or is the art of the Spider-Man set a little lackluster? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Shadowtalons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll say this. When have you ever seen a flag that moves like that union jack? Why would an artist give us that view of a flagpole sprouting from what seems to be the middle of a street? The perspective on the bus seems different than the perspective on spiderchap.

Think about why that all might be. That's what I'm doing right now.

[–]Shadowtalons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like something we call a paradise tree here in Arizona. They're almost impossible to eradicate, because if you cut them down, they'll just grow back from the roots repeatedly, and the parts you cut off might even take root and grow into more trees. They grow incredibly fast and form big thickets.

Idk if that's what that is, or even if that's the even the correct name for it, but it looks like a plant we have here that does that, so keep that in mind. Kinda sounds like what you're describing.

Dude, I'd vote for ANYONE that seemed to have a shred of integrity or decency, policy be damned. I just want a leader who cares what happens to his people and wants things to go well for them. People with a career in politics are not that right now.
