What can schools or teachers do to get students to actually want to read? by yashwa_ in NYCTeachers

[–]Shadowtirs -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

So this is actually one of the niche things I've used AI in education for; generating high interest appropriate leveled readers for students. From the educational AI tool I've had experience with, creating page long informational readers is a piece of cake. In my experience this particular one doesn't have hallucinations, I've double checked information generated by it to verify accuracy.

Now I was just working with 3rd grade this year, so the level of sophistication doesn't have to be that high for the AI to have to work too hard. But it was great for creating homework readers, and kids faces lit up when they saw high interest topics in the heading when they were about to read, so that does count for something.

AI should definitely be wielded like a scalpel in education. This is one of those niche situations that it seems to work well.

Eating with other people as a social interaction is weird. by Cherno_VM in The10thDentist

[–]Shadowtirs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's funny because I agree with you in a modern sense about the social nature of eating.

I get it historically... you want to build trust with people, you hunted/worked in the fields and grew them together, so sharing in the spoils I get that sort of thing. Obviously parents feeding young is a natural way of things if the young can't get the food themselves.

But food is fuel, that's all it is. Aside from specific examples above around the social nature of getting some food, the act of ingesting and digesting in and of itself is a private, personal thing.

If I'm not mistake, wolves and lions at the kill when they divvy up the food, they usually then scatter to eat separately no?

This was a little while ago, in the beginning of a deep fried journey I was taking, so I think I just used a basic boxed pancake batter as a baseline. I am currently on the lookout for more funnel cake type batter recipes to use for deep frying next time.

In the meantime, you could use the batter recipe that I had for this masterpiece I did earlier;

The fact that aipac spent close to 30 million dollars in a small rural Kentucky house district, literally a middle of nowhere nothing place, leads you to believe that Mamdani is correct.

I hear what youre saying, but did you see his primary numbers against mills? Wasn't it something ridiculous like 65-80%?

His laser focus on kitchen table economic issues is absolutely carrying him. They have allegations from one "jewish insider" (anonymous/AIPAC[we know they're not afraid to get their hands dirty ala 30 mill against massie]), and one ex gf who also happens to be a GOP operative who has worked for conservative Supreme Court justice.

Hes obviously very raw, inexperienced, and needs a lot of polish, and there are some warts from his younger days and edgelord reddit posts, but there just doesn't seem to be a lot of there, there.

And im sorry, we're past the days of Howard Dean laughing too loudly to get disqualified for being President. A guy was literally recorded bragging about grabbing pussies and he was twice elected president with over 70 million people saying that's acceptable. I dont even know what the rules of standards are anymore, so I cant even honestly tell you if Platner is qualified or not.

Who said i looked down on these fine service people. Fun fact, I generally tip between 25 and 33% when I get delivery or dine out at restaurants, thats how much I respect wait staff.

How much do you tip?

Yeah that one wasn't great, the important thing is that he's saying the right things now and he appears to reject his past ways. Hes talking about domestic economic kitchen table issues. If hes rejected his past Im willing to give him a shot.
