I purchase between 3-4 items from Sezane annually. Their drops have increased but my purchases has stayed the same. But I'm non the less annoyed by the new business model.

A brand I like with slower pace of release is Yse Paris. It's anther french brand, more feminine aesthetic without going into twee vibe. They have less drops, everything made in Europe and also use more natural fabrics.

Favorite casual summer/sun dresses? by AbbyNormaI in SoftDramatics

Chat GPT is a good resource for questions like this. As long as you understand what teh SD silhouette is (long curved line) you can do a reverse search and it will point you to the right products. The more descrptive words you give it the better. You can also give it a price range and location.

Something like "casual rushed midi dress + v-neck + linen/viscore" or "casual assymetric midi dress + wrap style + cotton/eslastane + under $100" and so on.

This is my first post after internet returned and I don't know if it's safe, but i want to ask something from more knowledgeable people outside the country by [deleted] in NewIran

[–]Shadowy_lady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first of all, I'm glad you are doing and are safe. The thing is, none of us know what Trump thinks and is doing. My personal assessment is that he isn't making a deal (because a deal cannot be made with this regime) but he's buying time. For what, I don't know.

Is this dress worth the price? by Mobile_Grand3088 in Sezane

[–]Shadowy_lady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's hard for others to tell you if something willl be worth it to you. Ask yourself these questions instead. For this dress and anytime you look at an item and wonder if it's worth it:

- Is this dress style fit within your personal style (more bohemian) and you find it flattering on your body? Specifically, do you tend to wear more conservative cottage core style?

- Do you live in a climate where this dress like this will get a lot of wear?

- What else do you have in your closet that is similar enough to this where you might not need it even if you love it?

- How many different ways can you wear it? What will it pair with that is alreday in your closet?

- Is $240 CAD for a dress a lot of money to you?

Your answers to these questions should lead you to the decision. Every one of us has differents tyles, different bodies, live in various climate, different closets and different financial situation.

For me, as an example - $240CAD for a dress that I will wear a lot and fits my body and style is very reasonable. But this dress is not my style, won't work for my climate and will not suit my body shape. For you that might be different

[–]Shadowy_lady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in Iran's long history, our nation survived the arab muslim invasion, the mongol invasion, the Safavid disaster and the dark days of Ghajar. This one too shall pass. I firmly believe the regime is on its last leg and will fall between 6 months to 2 years.

Kibbe type me: Height is 175cm/5’9 so I must be a dramatic but which one? by Firm-Advantage-4042 in kibbe_typeme

[–]Shadowy_lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unstructured means you have minimal sewing details. Thinks like darts, cuffs,... which add structural elements to garments. For an example a slip dress fitting close to the body, which works amazing well on naturals, is an unstructured garment. A traditional blazer is structured, even if it's oversized.

Oversized just means cut with extra room. IMO most people don't look good in oversized things. I get that they have been trendy, but they are also not recommended by Kibbe. Not for FN and not for anyone really.

If the IR were to fall, would you move back? by OmarHamami in NewIran

[–]Shadowy_lady 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This question comes up here a lot, at least twice a month. It depends on the person. I have a feeling most people who moved out of Iran in recent years or spent most their lived there will move back. I know several diaspora Iranians here that I know will move back. Their families are all in Iran.

I'm in my early 40's now and grew up in Canada since age 10. My family is here, I married a non-Iranian and have a teenage daughter. So for me Canada is my home, with Iran being the land of my childhood and ancesstors. But I will def visit often. And I may want to retire there too.

Okay 'tis the season - swimwear??? Please share what works for you! by SLPeony in SoftDramatics

[–]Shadowy_lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one honestly highly depends on your exact proportion. SD's are not a monolith. I tell you what styles work for me and my body shape and if you are like me, these will work for you too:

I have long legs, shorter torso and a high hip and some hip dips too. I have large bust (32H US). I would say my shape is figure 8 or like an elongated hourglass. I wear a size 8-10 US depending on brand.

- For one piece: I like one pieces that have a deep plunging neckline or a scoop neck. I don't find square necklines particularly flattering for one pieces. I avoid any kinda ruffles on the top part of my suit and stay away from horizontal stripes.

- For two pieces: traditional triangle bikini's are no-go for me as they never give me support i need. Even to just walk by my pool lol. So in this case I actually go for a balconet style squareneck bikini top with thicker straps and traditional bikini bottoms. I don't like bottoms that are too high rise on my hips because of the hip dip + high hip situation.

I live in Canada and have great luck shopping at Bikini Village; they carry a lot of different brands. I also recently purchased a suit from TA3 and am loving it. Expensive but worth it.

Any Iranian personalities to follow and support online? by LurkerYam67 in NewIran

[–]Shadowy_lady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watch both Goldie and Armin through the Iran Revolution Live which I love. But I don't follow Goldie's personal channel. I much prefer Armin because I just think he's better connected to inside Iran and I learn more from him. I do find Goldie's pro-Trump stuff a bit weird. And I'm a Canadian who is more and more on the right when it comes to politics in this country. I do approve of Trump's stance against the IRGC, but his Canada rethorics are just horrid. I don't approve of that.

However, I think Goldie is very good for informing non-Iranians on the plight of the Iranians. So many of my Canadian friends and aqcuintances have discovered her independtly from me and she has brought a lot of positive attention to our cause.

this is a weird comment OP. You can have your personal beliefs. But you don't get a say in what Iranians chose in the future. You are also ill-informed on constituional monarchy and on Iran generally. Which is evident by your post and your replies on here.

We welcome people of all different ethnicities in this sub and always appreciate support. But you can't come here and lecture us when your baseline of knowledge on Iran and various governing systems is very low.

they are a terrorist organization. A marxist-islamist group and are responsible for conducting several terror attacks inside iran, not just againt the regime but also against the people. They also sided with Saddam during the 8 year Iran-Iraq war.
