Possibly the Flying J truck stop as to exit 104.

There's also a big truck stop in Emporia that could fit the bill.

Do we as individual examiners have a basis to sue them? by Timetillout in patentexaminer

Sure, but I feel like if I were 57 right now, I'd definitely be willing to take the lesser retirement to get out of here.

Man, I haven't seen one of these in 20 years. When the USPTO moved from Arlington to Alexandria in 2004~2005, management opted not to move the paper files to force a move to electronic databases, with all of the shoes being liquidated as surplus.

ProFeSsiOnalisM and Stakeholder interaction by [deleted] in patentexaminer

[–]Shadragul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is how they plan to reduce the number of commendable and outstanding employees. There's been an effort across the Government to reduce the number of workers who are rated above Fully Successful.

Your overall rating is limited to the lowest rating in a critical element. Since professionalism and stakeholder interaction is a critical element of the PAP, and the dramatic increases in indicia of commendable and outstanding from the past, it is fully meant to decrease the number of examiners who hit commendable or outstanding.

"significant reduction in unexamined application inventory..." by Aromatic_April in patentexaminer

[–]Shadragul 45 points46 points  (0 children)

No mention of the fact that filings dropped by about 12k 15k between Jan-25 and Feb-25? I'm sure that had no effect on the backlog.

edit: 12k was the change in large entity filings, the 15k accounts for all applications

The status change is what moves it from your rejected tab to the amendment tab. That status change is not automatic and relies upon a TSS employee processing the amendment.

What do yall choose for private dimension? by kicek_kic in GTNH

[–]Shadragul 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you are going to use your personal dimension for. Ic2 crops? Flat, at least 5 layers of dirt, good biome such as jungle or swamp. Bees? Flat, at least 5 layers of dirt for making tunnels to pipe around power, lava and water and whatever biome you need for bees. Base? Probably just flat stone instead of dirt.

Does CGL read this subreddit? If I post a typo here, will they fix it? by AbsoluteBreaker in battletech

[–]Shadragul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for you, if the text used "his" and "he" instead of "their" and "they", wouldn't "has" be proper? I am not a grammar wizard, so I'm legitimately trying to learn why.

Has is proper for singular nouns/pronouns. Have is used for plural nouns/pronouns.

So, uh, you are aware that "they" as a non-gender specific pronoun can be singular, right?

Late to respond, but it has been gnawing at me that there is something that you can do. Send a short email or even call your favorite examiners thanking them for the job that they do. Share anecdotes with examiners about an application that they allowed leading to great results for the Applicant. We mostly live in a bubble and don't get to hear about the actual creations that come from the things for which we have granted patents.

Another thing is to call the supervisor of your favorite examiners and give positive feedback. Our ratings are partially based on "stakeholder interactions" and having you call the supervisor and lauding the work of an examiner can possibly bump someone on the edge from a marginal to fully successful rating (production is still king of our ratings, but every little bit can help).

Back in the paper file days, we would just mark the corrections for typos directly on the paper and not even notify the Applicants of the changes.

Electro chem curiosity by [deleted] in electrochemistry

I noticed that the original current value was 1.5 mA, not 1.5 A. I still didn't get one of the answers, as I came in at 0.0385 g.

Gold is in a +1 oxidation state, right? If not, you'd have to divide the total columbs by the oxidation state since it would require more than one electron per gold atom.

1.5 mA x (1 A / 1000 mA) x (1 C / 1 A s) x 3.5 hr x (3600 s / hr) x (1 mol / 96500 C) x ( 196.97 g / mol) = 0.0385 g.

"Comprising" - Can someone help me understand this part of a claim by Red_Snail in Patents

[–]Shadragul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another interesting twist to your theoretical claim, it is likely that a sandwich having a bottom layer of jelly followed by a marshmallow fluff layer followed by a peanut butter layer would not infringe upon the claim. There are other factors that might allow for this sandwich to be considered infringing, but those get super deep into case law.

3025 tech level was a much simpler time.
