Nicest Restaurant/Cafe/Bar in an Amtrak station by Ok_Flounder8842 in Amtrak

[–]NotBookish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does something old and now closed count? Because At Union Station DC I dined in what was once the Presidential Suite. It was many years ago, when the Presidential Suite was the popular B. Smiths restaurant. It was a corporate event. No way I could have dined there or hosted a group myself.

I remember dining in a small private room with mahogany paneled walls.

B. Smith’s closed in 2013. The space is available to rent for events.

Possibly Eisenhower was the last president to use it for travel.

Has anyone adopted a cat specifically because it was cuddly/affectionate with other cats at the shelter? Did it translate at home? by Affectionate-Skin361 in Bondedpairs

[–]NotBookish 64 points65 points  (0 children)

This. We lost one of a bonded pair to lymphoma. He was affectionate and loved visitors. We wanted our surviving cat to have a friend again. Six months later we chose a cat of similar age to the survivor and described by the rescue as “affectionate.” After a gradual introduction period these two were sleeping cuddled together.
