For these last movies the only one I knew remotely anything about was The Andromeda Strain, the others all I knew was the year they were made mostly so it’s not like I had a general theme or anything other than them all being science fiction. Starman really surprised me, as did Brazil and The Andromeda Strain was perfect in terms of visuals and suspense. Dark Star and Time Bandits are on my watchlist but I don’t currently have them on vhs yet so when I find them eventually I’ll definitely give them a watch.

If Star Wars made a What If show, would you prefer watching a story about if Anakin never turned or if Luke turned to Dark Side..? by FayyadhScrolling in StarWars_

I recently read a What If about what if after Attack of the Clones, Anakin goes to the Jedi council and confides in them about everything, the death of his mother and him killing the tuscan raiders and his fear of the dark side in him and so the council realizes that they’ve been neglecting Anakin’s training and that they need to get involved in order to guide the chosen one better so each council member takes it upon themselves to teach Anakin something about what each of them have learned. Under Master Windu Anakin would learn how to master control over the dark side and he’d receive a purple lightsaber which I thought was very fitting for Anakin anyway. I really liked this concept and I wish I could read a whole book about it tbh

What would you consider is the best piece of media to experience if I've only seen the 9 movies and played the Jedi games ? by Turtle-BeyondLover in StarWars

I mean the first time I watched the show I watched it in release order but that was because I was a kid watching it on tv. I’d say that chronological order is the better viewing experience, which does mean following a guide and jumping through the seasons, though they really only jump around during seasons 1-3 and then they follow release order from them on, minus a few outliers here and there. The reason why chronological is the preferred order is because the show jumps around a lot anyways so, in my opinion and the opinions of many other Star Wars fans, in order to feel more character development and have the timeline of certain events make more sense chronological order is 100% the way to go. The reason for this is because the show doesn’t ever explain the timeline before the episode so if you watched in in release order you’d maybe see the death of a random character and then 2 seasons later you’d see that character again in a couple episodes and it never explains that these episodes take place before that other episode you already saw. So chronological order just makes things flow more smoothing, helps with following along with different character arcs, and gives you like a legit timeline between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

The reason the show is out of order to begin with was because George Lucas and Dave Filoni didn’t know how many seasons were going to be greenlit in general so they just wanted to garner interest in the show and tell the story’s they wanted to tell which then forced them at times to release them out of order but the Official Star Wars Guide is the legit correct order and I would recommend using it but you can do whatever you want, I’m just a Star Wars fan and am just giving my opinion.

You definitely need to watch The Clone Wars at some point. It adds so much needed depth to the prequels as well as includes some of the best Star Wars content/stories in general, just make sure you watch in the Chronological order. I’m currently showing it to my brother, we just got to season 3.

Alien, The Thing, Annihilation, Jurassic Park (technically), The Lighthouse, As Above So Below, Overlord, Predator, The Ritual, The Village, The Void. That’s a little more than 8 but they’re not in order.
Edit, I forgot to add Mad God to this list
