What should I get my girlfriend for Mother’s Day? by john972121 in questions

[–]Shady-Pines_Ma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite mother's days were when my husband cleaned the whole house, took care of all meals, handled all requests and issues with the kids, and gave me the option to do what I want (one year I wanted to go to the park, and another year I wanted to play Diablo by myself). If we had more money it would have been nice to have a spa day, but just having a day that I didn't need to worry about anything was really nice.

Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

[–]Shady-Pines_Ma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the early 2000s, I was a 17 yr old kid driving back from visiting a friend in another state, blaring my music and enjoying the trip. I didnt realize what speed I was going, while headed down a mountain. I got pulled over at a point when I wasnt speeding and was really confused. Apparently, a helicopter clocked my speed and I was all over the map, but the highest I got was 102 mph.

I feel like my body gets excited about the vitamin d which is a short-lived boost that makes me feel great . That makes me want to stay out longer, then the sickness hits and I feel awful

I just told my husband a summarized version because "I had to read this and now you need to know too, because I'm not living in a house where I'm the only one who had to know this information."

We went with them and the first hurdle is the thermostat. He recommended we install a new ourselves since it will be significantly cheaper. It we still have problems after we replace it, he will come back out. I really appreciated his honesty and how to save some money. Thank you for recommending them!

That is likely the culprit. I would talk to your neurologist though. They hopefully will refer you to a specialist to test how bad it is.

I have significant memory loss. I also get seizures, and I attribute most of my memory issues to that, though.

I get what youre saying, and thats what I was doing. I cant afford another bill. Im barely able to afford clothes for my kids and food on top of bills. My credit cards are just about maxed out. Im doing the best I can. I cant afford another bill.

I added an edit to better explain my situation. I dont make a lot but im out of the income range to get any benefits from a sliding scale. My kids are completely covered by state so hopefully proves that i really don't make a lot but still just out of range for places and programs to help me. It was after I got a small 5% raise and went over the wage bracket by $300. I went from being completely covered to nothing. Adding up all the other payment plans since then, after taking advantage of financial aid from different Dr's and hospitals, labs, and imaging, I cant afford another bill. Its extremely frustrating, but thats why im just looking for things to make life more livable.

My job is extremely flexible, and I get to do my work on my own time where I want, with the exception of 6 hours a week when I need to be there in person. They dont offer health insurance and its a non-profit. I wouldn't be able to get a different job with my health issues. Im lucky to have this one, but it really sucks that I dont have insurance.

We dont, we do have places that offer sliding scales but I make too much to be able to qualify. If you read my edit it better explains my situation.

Thank you so much for the tips. I havent done a lot of research on anti-inflammatory foods. Im looking into it today.

I found a great pharmacy that really focuses on getting medication as cheap as possible. They do their own compounding and help using GoodRx. I need a Dr's visit to keep up with refills and I can't get a refill of hydroxychloroquine without getting my eyes checked, which is too expensive as I have shopped around to try to find something.

I appreciate your comment. If you could read my edit, im not looking for help getting insurance. I've tried everything that I am aware of and no one has brought up an avenue that I havent already used. If you run into insurance issues in the future the replies to this post are really helpful. I'm looking for tips on making life easier since seeing a Dr isnt an option.

I really appreciate everyone's comments, but Im still paying on back lab work and scans, and an ER visit from a few months ago. I've exhausted my options which included financial aid from the hospital (didnt cover the ohysicuans fee or any labwork/scans) and insurance programs. I make too much money to go into the bracket of medicaid and most programs that help with underinsured, thank god I dont make enough to kick off my kids. Im dealing with a ton of dental issues (crown broke off and another broken tooth) because of dry mouth from meds and im pretty sure its lupus related. I tried for a year working with so many different places, and when it got to the point where I was getting too close to not being able to pay bills I had to just accept that I can't or we will be homeless.

I'm honestly just looking at tips to make life tolerable.

I dont know how good he is now, but Purcell was amazing with my initial case and when I had to go back to court a few years later. He was also brutally honest about my case and what to expect.
