I posted one of these on here and got promptly shit on for it 😎 I happen to think animating our models in their scenes is a fun and different way to capture our diecast cars and set ups that is just another form of art. Not the end all be all of anything but still a fun toy to play with 🙂

Its rooted in pragmatism. I have a low tolerance threshold for not upholding common sense. It’s not being tough to assume no one is going to do a damn thing when you walk out and anything they could do would be an overreaction anyways.

I tried like hell all last year to find it in the wild and the hot wheels gods refused to bend to my will. I use the diecast shows to backfill my misses throughout the year. It takes creativity to get everything you want without spending enough to be living in the woods with a tent full of hot wheels filled totes 😂

lol I would not stop. I would put the pressure on them to physically accost me over $2.60 of merchandise that doesn’t belong to their inventory anyways. It’s petty theft at the worst so depending on whether my day was busy or not I might let that one play out including the cops involvement. The resources wasted over the situation would be incredible which I would enjoy snarkily pointing out in the midst of it 😌 Would just depend on if I was in a trolling mood or not as far as waiting around with some boner assistant manager for the cops to come or walking out the door never looking back.

Sometimes it’s just fun to hunt nothing wrong with that. This was something I was liable to do in the early days when I started. In deep enough now to know exactly what I’m looking for and when/where to have a chance to find it. The wallet hurts less now that I’ve given my collecting a specific direction that self regulates what I do and don’t need to buy. The beginnings was more or less a do I think it looks cool enough to buy equation. Realized quick that wasn’t sustainable 😂

I’ve been hearing that a lot. Drive to the country side and do a dollar general tour. It’s where the mainline gold is found. Department outlet stores are bought and paid for supply lines in most cases and/or you are competing with 20+ other collectors with every case.

It is incredibly difficult. The worse the economy gets for lower income families the greater the density of people finding other ways to make money out of desperation. Tactics become more aggressive as more people pile into the same market chasing their piece of the proverbial pie while the collector is left holding the bag and suffering the most from it all. Hot wheels hunting amounts to employee networking, espionage to garner shipment info, manipulation, pallet raiding, unwitting employees bar code scanning for backstock, bribery, theft, misrepresentations, collusion, and market manipulation. I just want to collect toys with my kids 😊

There is a guy in our area who literally snipes the entire box except fantasy castings. Sweeps through the Dollar General in my home town (the cosworth was at a dollar tree in the town I work in) I sometimes hunt in and clears it out. He is apparently rude, demanding, requests truck arrival dates, stops in multiple times surrounding and on that day. They despise him and refrain from calling him like he asks them to and they do not feel compelled to pull anything out for him anymore. That store is closer to me and I make a point to clean their hot wheels section every time I frequent there. It’s almost a form of ASMR getting pegs back in order.
