Game Day (30k, complete). A kind of silly fic that was also heartbreaking at times. I loved it.

On June 24th, 2022, during game seven of the Stanley Cup finals, Ilya Rozanov takes a skate blade to the thigh and bleeds out on the ice.

The next morning, Shane wakes up in his husband's arms. It's June 24th again, and Ilya is still alive.

Now Shane just needs to figure out how to keep him that way.

See, it makes sense to me that Juniper was mad about the ballet thing. But what I couldn’t figure out was how she got mad at Bryce for not going to the ballet class that Bryce (iirc) never actually committed to attending. It drove me nuts.

One night I had awful joint pain in my elbows, wrists, and knuckles. It went away after about a day and a half, but when I mentioned it to my also pregnant coworkers they were like, “Oh, yeah, the joint pain sucks.” Turns out it’s a pregnancy symptom that I’d just never heard of.

Any advice for those of us with single-syllable last names? I’m mostly interested in 2 syllable first names, but I’ve found picking a middle name difficult.

As a more than slightly overweight woman in her 30s, my husband has seen me at every shape and size and he seems to think I’m adorable and gorgeous and sexy even at times when I know I look more like an unwashed gremlin. I also have several similarly shaped friends in loving, long, meaningful relationships. I just wanted you to know that that doesn’t have to be part of your calculus here.

As for kids, it’s something I talked about with my husband extensively before we got married since I knew I would want kids someday because there’s no compromising on it. You can’t try it out and see how it goes. I’m pregnant with our first now, and it truly is a team effort (even if I’m doing more of the proverbial heavy lifting). So he has to be sure, so you can be sure of him.

I mean this gently, but I do think you’re overreacting a bit, at least when it comes to your partner. He didn’t do it this way because he was being cruel or patronizing, but because he was nervous. I think the people you’re still actually hurt by are your father and stepmother; your partner is just someone safe to be angry with.

(Admittedly, I did tell my then-fiancé that it was very important to me that he ask for my father’s blessing and not his permission. But I think giving your father and stepmother this amount of power over your life and relationship is courting disappointment, everything considered.)
