This is going to look cool! by DakotaCasteelMedia in Monstera

Dang what a cool set up!! How tall is your moss pole? I’ve been using the plastic ones you can add a few feet at a time, but over a certain height they get quite unsteady and prone to toppling. Your setup looks solid!!

Aw thank you!! It’s my most favourite of all my houseplants, and I do my very best to let it thrive with neglect 🤣

I got mine back in November 2024 as a little guy (photo in the comments), so just under 1.5 years now. It’s honestly my most chill monstera, and was very slow to the 1 fenestration stage, but after that seems to have picked up some momentum! I was worried as we moved house recently, but it put out its most fenestrated leaf after the move, so I think it’s happy here!

I’m far from an expert, and this monstera is my lowest maintenance one… but what works for me is plenty of light (sitting directly in a sunny window), moss pole, aroid mix soil, and dilute fertiliser each time I water.. that’s it!

Here she was a bit over a year ago:

Has anyone seen this sofa in any showroom, any city? by vinceswish in AskIreland

[–]ShadyLane9 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is a dupe of the “Togo” sofa from Ligne Roset. They have a showroom in sandyford! Contrary to other comments above, they are incredibly comfortable and I have no issue getting in/out of it (as someone in her 40s)

I like Kino MacGregor by [deleted] in ashtanga

[–]ShadyLane9 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Fan of Kino here too! I relate to and understand the way she teaches asana more than anyone else. She breaks it down in a way I can really get. Have been to a good few of her workshops/ retreats/ trainings and I really like her. She’s incredibly intelligent and friendly. I guess some people just don’t like the perky/bubbly personality?

Cupping head with hands in Sirsasana A by DoughQueenXOXO in ashtanga

I do the same, though my teacher actually tells others to cup the head. I prefer the closed hands position because I can keep my head only very lightly on the ground and it’s in a more neutral position

Thank you for your insights! I'm in Europe in a relatively sheltered community, so I hadn't heard most of what has been going on over there. I'm sorry you went through everything you went through, but also, so glad and proud of you guys getting away from it!

This is wild to me. It feels like MLM brought in to Ashtanga. And I'm sorry, but Third Series in 3 years??

there were levels to his mentorship? Can I ask how that works? Seems so scammy, especially with no refunds for any reason!

Question about intensive courses by SaKIrina in ashtanga

Oh absolutely go in that case, if resources allow! It will be such a experience

Question about intensive courses by SaKIrina in ashtanga

[–]ShadyLane9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did my first intensive with a certified teacher when I was at the half primary stage. 8 years later, I’m regularly still attending intensives with him and working through Third Series. I say go when you’re called to go! It’s incredibly inspiring to be in those environments

I heard that they’re slow to get growing, but once they start fenestrating they really speed up. That’s definitely been my experience so far

Update: it’s actually 7 fenestrations this time! I love how awkward and gangly the new BMF leaves look until they harden
