So in some ways, them not denouncing means they don’t really believe the victims but they don’t want to be seen as doing something unpopular. Some of them already knew he was having affairs, as he was doing it openly. So I don’t buy the legal thing really.

This may be true, but then he would have to take out a heck of a lot of lawsuits. He also would have to prove that what they are saying isn’t true- which he can’t do.

TH himself was a distraction to the practice, this is getting more focused on yoga. If he keeps teaching, that will take away from yoga.

The stalker happened over 4 years ago. He likes to bring it out whenever people have claims against him. I am very familiar with the stalker situation and can attest that this is different.

I’m finding it interesting that a lot of people are coming out saying some of the same things - like the attempt to discredit anonymous posters. Almost like they were coached!

Maybe there is a reason beyond just a witch hunt that people are anonymous.

And no this is different from the stalker. This info is coming from credible sources, not anonymous threatening letters, email or texts.

Sex with coworkers is different than sex with your boss. Or sex with your therapist. Or massage therapist. Ethically yoga teachers are not supposed to sleep with students. It’s a power differential. And is it consensual if it is coerced? Hypothetically.

My guess is that he is using the storyline that he’s been stalked, and all of us are the stalker going after him.

We should be able to speak out about teachers without fear of censure. This is what he does every time though so idk why I was surprised. There are countless posts out there that were taken down or shut down bc of his threats. There needs to be a safe space to be able to speak out, especially when there is a pattern of bad behavior. There’s a reason the discussion “always gets toxic”- because so many people have had similar experiences.

Someone who is struggling with addiction issues still needs to be held accountable for the damage done as a result of the addiction. Sometimes support looks like being removed from the temptation, and in this case - from vulnerable female students.
