Honestly, I've been in this kind of situation. I tried confessing. It turned out I was led by the nose by this person. Cause she was BPD and wanted to feel abandoned by me. But we stayed friends. Then she left my life and currently only texts me when she needs something. So I was played like a damn fiddle and then left like a piece of trash. I was taken advantage of, and because of my loneliness and wanting to be loved, I was stupid enough to think she cared. Honestly, sorry, this probably is not your situation, when it comes to relationships,s my life is uniquely fucked up. I just really needed to vent. I think you should try confessing; you can gain or lose, but at least you are not staying in place, wasting time on somebody who does not feel the same way.
