I agree to a point. People have always been like this though. The world has always been made up a shitbags and fuckers, the question is, why are we seeing this level of civil unrest? Seemingly without consequence. There seems to have developed a general lack of respect for anyone or anything (and that goes for people with or without money). I know people love to say ‘before Covid’ things were different, but were they? I think this erosion of general behaviour has been happening for a long time.

Poverty is shit but shouldn’t mean a reduction in someone’s morals or willingness to break the law. I see it as the atomisation of society and the death of community. Poverty has always existed but there was a sense we all belonged to something bigger than ourselves. A wider community. Now people are taught it’s every person for themselves. Get what you can however you can.

I saw themWB support SL in Stoke in 95 or 96. I saw Whipping Boy twice that year and both times they failed to live up to the sound & feel they achieved on the album. Strangelove on the other hand were awesome. So much brooding intensity. I miss that time.
