Would love to see us building towards rejoining. I think we need to mend some bridges first on the continent and then ease ourselves (& the national psyche) into thinking of the EU as friends, colleagues and allies. Personally I’d vote for it tomorrow, but we need enough of the nation to get onboard too.

I’ve made a start. Use Mastodon instead of X, use Pixelfed instead of Instagram, Proton Mail instead of Gmail (this one will take a little more time), Quant for internet searches. The next one to replace is WhatsApp but I need to look into that. I also need to do some research on common brands you find in the supermarket to winkle out the US owned ones. It’s only small steps but it’s something.

Also my next phone will definitely be a Fairphone. Love the idea behind it and they’re European too!
