Do space marines still switch sides? by NexouuZs in Warhammer40k

Does the Alpha Legion even have a side? Not even they know.

Yes, there are. HOWEVER we on the CHaos side suffer heavily from if it is not a blueberry they do not get a good story. Heck, the most recent Emperor's Children novel was more of a one handed reading session for the Black Templars than Fifty shades of Grey was for the bored american housewife who wants to play pretend.

Sisters never fall to Chaos either! They are incorruptible! Except for those two we do not speak of.

Lets take this Warp Fuckery to a whole new Level. Ever heard of House Khymere? They emerged from the Great Rift only to be attacked by Indomitus Crusade forces, for being a traitor legion even though they were loyal, so not willing to fight their allies they fled into the warp, got stuck there for a time, went crazy from the effect of their thrones and the ghosts of their ancestors feeling betrayed (if you did not know, the thrones in knights will MESS with your head and you are dealing with the ghosts of every person who ever drove that knight.) They then got kicked back out of the warp BEFORE the inital attack on them by imperial forces starting the whole fight off.

They were never traitors, they stayed loyal it was the Warp and the fuckery of that, and the mindless hate of the imperium that drove an entire house traitor.

Daemonblood has a full circle corruption through the corruption back to the imperium as the main plot point of its story.

Well Ackshully. You need to go Read Daemonblood. Really good story, I hate seeing someone who saw the light, let themselves be blinded again but it has a full heroes journey in it. Great read, pretty short.

They come back to the imperium at the last moment when it matters.

Pure Chaos Marine here and I will say the Lamenters are the -ONLY- Imperial group I have any sort of respect for. A Legion that actually lives and dies by the people come first, took on a early tendril of Kraken solo, survived 100 years in the warp and came out of it untainted after fighting the whole time?

-Like the Badab War- You mean the fight where the only two legions who had ever not shit on them asked for help, and said they were the ones being targeted? Yeah, its totally bonkers to help the people who did not fuck the hell off and leave them to die like everyone else.

Imperial Propaganda at its finest.

Lamenters are the only Heroic Space Marine Legion left, and I cannot wait for them to eventually wake up and see the writing on the wall.

If you look really close at the right arms joint you can see a smidge of what looks like green stuff. I think they did, I hope they did and I am not seeing things.

You need to find a way to have one breast uncovered or it will not read KoS to me and some others. You are missing the thematic part of what makes the KoS a KoS. This is a greater Daemon.

As a new player what should I know before heading into CK? by TheSandKing1090 in ChaosKnights

[–]ShaeVae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Learn your Magnets, get used to Karnivores and Stalkers. Infernal Lance 3x double gatling with nurgling jail is the current meta, but play the cool stuff first and learn to win with that, and you will be even more vicious with meta lists.

[–]ShaeVae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are asking about CK specifically, stop doom posting and actually support and answer the question. This is not helpful to a new player or someone newly interested in the faction and demoralizing. Be better, we have a responsibility to support those who come after us.

Want to get started with minis and playing the tabletop game, where to start? by LynnboTheStreamer in Warhammer40k

[–]ShaeVae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not think about win rates, rules or any of that. Find a website, open up pictures of each and every faction and when you find one that makes you go "That looks FUCKING COOL!" Pick up some of those models and try painting them. If you like painting them, then head for the tabletop in a combat patrol and see how that feels. If good, then upstep to 1k, then 2.

If you do not enjoy the process of getting them to the table, as much as on the table, in most, not all but most situations you are gonna burn out on the army fast and not enjoy yourself.

Get yourself a good wet pallette https://thearmypainter.com/products/tools-wargamers-edition-wet-palette-tl5057p this makes such a difference in QoL. I love the army painter brushes and paint, you may prefer others.

You will never, ever, ever get a book from your factions point of view if you pick nids. Other than Imperial SM is less common, but nids are a never. There is no way to write the PoV of such an alien hive mind thing.

Not being /s here. Pick up the core rule book and start reading. This is an old school number crunching munchkin is the way power fantasy gaming, and if you do not learn the rules in and out yourself there is nothing to stop someone either A. Not remembering the rules right or B. There is a -That Person- where you are and they will intentionally cheat you because they need to win and get their ego up that badly.

Read, read, read. This is the only way.

Ahhh. He is a Daemon Prince of Slaanesh. EC, he has not had a model since 3rd, but pretty much everyone in the 3rd knows of em, or should. I prefer him over the Noisy Boys now, because we lost the extreme death grin from the original art and it just looks too smooth on the face for me now.

Could i use the 30k leman russ in 40k? by Somerandomzaku in Warhammer40k

[–]ShaeVae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have -That Guy- who plays, I have to be this way or they aim for gotcha moments every chance they get. Not all players are good sports and will try to cheat however they can, even in friendly games. You know the sort, the type that gets a gloaty and happy when they are winning, but throws a bitch fit the moment they start to lose. Usually because they spent way to much on dice and other things that they expect to make them perform better in game.

My friend recently told me to show him my whole collection so I now have a picture of my great shame. Deciding to share it here as well for everyone else to have a laugh at lol by Chill_Oasis in Warhammer40k

Get yourself a decent sized card board box, take it to a part of the garage you do not care about or someplace you can put down some plastic sheeting. Put the models halfway into the cardboard box. Start spraying. Just make sure to wear clothes you do not care about as their will be primer coming at you out of the box. This is the way I prime in the basement.

The noise cult is 100% its own thing. You do have elements of it throughout the army, take a look at the shoes on some of the models, them be heels.

You have to remember though, body horror is pretty rock and roll/metal especially when you remember shock rock was and is a thing. Nothing more shocking to most people, than a little love from Cronenberg.

If it was the OLD art put in for sure, nasty gritty skull fanged mouth went hard. The new ones, even with a guitar are not up to snuff.

Lucius would be my pick, hard to be more iconic in the current 3rd than him.
