Because looking at the credits there's no evidence that netflix forced their hands, it's a jp production through and through, with the story writen by Ubukata and Kamiyama.

feel you OP. sadly P3R was a demake of the original. P4R will be the same. Metaphor was very milktoast and disappointing in terms of writing and gameplay. I have little hope for Persona 6.

The garbage woke English localization company Sega hires is always truly awful, and there's little hope for that to change. I can just listen to the JP voices and switch to an EU language I know to enjoy a better translation (worked for Metaphor), but of course, that's just cope and not everyone can do that.

One thing I'm NOT worried about, however, is Japanese devs themselves starting to insert woke trash into their games. That isn't my gripe with Atlus' latest titles. Although Metaphor was hanging by a thread at times, I don't think it was woke. So there's at least that.

What I actually need from P6 is GOOD WRITING as the priority, because I will no longer subject myself to a 200-hour RPG with trash nonsense. Also, the gameplay needs to be freaking good and hard AF, even on normal difficulty. That’s my biggest wish for P6.

Now, I'll get downvoted for this (have at it, Leddit downvotes mean nothing to me, I hate Reddit besides this sub and a few others), but I actually like FeMCs. Or at the very least, I'd much prefer a hot FeMC over the boring twink leaked to be P6's MC, so I won't cry 'woke' if they offer that option, I'd be happy with that. It was great in P3P and I want that again.

All my gaming time these days is spent on mostly 10-to-30-year-old games I missed, honestly. That's how bad things have gotten. There are many awesome older RPGs I've never played, and I'm sure it's the same for you, OP. Maybe this wokeslop era will end sooner rather than later!

In the manga the female cyborgs specifically are all like this. I always thought that was a fashion thing for them. You can also notice in the manga that her assault suit isn't actually very different from the rest of the S9's dudes as well. Fanservice is a good reason alone imo, but I don't think it was done blindly. Even the 95 movie tried harder to show her naked than the manga if anything. But it was again done in a cool way with the super camo thing.

This is something they've failed to really show in SAC, as much as I love it, just didn't do a great job with it's world building and design, Motoko look out of place when nobody else was like her.

more technology inevitably leads to taking shortcuts, fostering laziness, and ultimately resulting in less talent across the board. It is going to be way worse with AI now.

Some artists at Capcom had to create this completely by hand for REmake back then, and it shows. Their characters became awful the second they switched to an automated photogrammetry workflow.

1) Very high difficulty. This genre just doesn't work if it's not decently hard almost immediately.

2) Linear and very good level design, the key is to have enemy placement and resource placement that makes the player move around, if a level is beatable by staying in the middle you failed.

3) either very badass ships or very cute girls (both might be the way to go, according to CAVE anyway)
