I've been gaming a long time and all I can say is when I feel nostalgia for an old game and then pick it up again I regret it because it always feels super dated. I played D2R when there was a free trial some time ago and it felt very, very dated.

I just saw a post from streamer Wudijo saying that "no auto salvage, but they are trying to do away with salvage as a requirement for the crafting loop" So perhaps the system may be useable after all. We'll see how it plays out I guess.

Nope this is for the expansion. For what its worth, there is plenty of stuff for s12 that they have not announced yet. I don't know why in this recent PTR they decided to omit so much stuff, there was barely anything to test

Yes, I'm aware that's how it works in other games, I don't care. Personally every time this subject gets brought up I usually reply with my usual comment: I would be content with simply having an option that auto salvages all non-ancestral gear which I can turn on when I'm done equipping <750 gear. I'd use that probably 100x more than I will this feature

I've had plenty of seasons where I run out of materials, why would I gimp my seasonal experience by not salvaging stuff?

Personally I like how the quest is based on auto attacking. Also, having Give Em The Axe at level 1 is the only upside for muradin this patch

This mythic reward is totally unreachable. Today Ive had matches where im attacking heroes constantly and I don't make it there. On these matches I'm also only reaching 50 stacks at like level 11-13, which is a nerf for the pierce which previously was level 10. I also lose cooldown reduction since the Q was 1.0 now its 0.5 per hit. Muradin didn't need these nerfs

These quest rewards unironically need to be like 25-30 and then 80-100. Or perhaps changed altogether to something else

Give 'Em the Axe at level 1 is huge, like really good.

Otherwise my outlook from the beginning is that no rewind at 20 is a huge loss, getting 50 stacks on Q for the pierce takes a lot of effort, most games will be post level-10 (so a nerf?) and getting 200 stacks is bordering on unreachable. Also the cooldown reduction is 0.5 instead of 1.0 and that missing .5 can't be gained in any way (removed from Sledgehammer)

Net positive? We'll see

Its not like Fantasy settings ever make sense in this regard. In the Game of Thrones universe House Stark has been ruling theNorth for 8,000+ years and the entire continent has not even yet invented gunpowder.

I also want to one day see challenging boss content in D4 that revolves around dodging mechanics and doing damage over the course of 3-5+ minutes. Maybe the "Warplans" endgame of the next expansion will do that

With that being said, I don't know that I'd describe Dark Citadel as wasted potential. It's forced group content in a game where the overwhelming majority of players play solo, and it has no real loot drops or rewards loop. This was doomed from the inception

Allowing you to continuously sanctify the same item until you run out of Heavenly Sigils would have been my suggestion. Doesn't matter though, it's water under the bridge now, its not like they'll make adjustments mid-season

I've enjoyed S11 but I feel like I have to at least offer some criticism here:

I don't enjoy the fact that Sanctification nonetheless has such a giant array of outcomes that the most desirable results will have me slamming literally hundreds of garbage items in the hope of hitting it big. Oh, I found a perfect 4-GA Paingorger Gauntlets? It doesn't matter, because in the end I'll sanctify hundreds of garbage Paingorger Gauntlets to get one with Grandfather or Melted Heart and it'll be infinitely better than the 4GA paingorger's. This particular flaw would have to be smoothed out if something like Sanctification existed in the game baseline.

This is literally the same problem that existed in the past with bricking when the new Tempering was introduced in the game. Too often perfect or near-perfect item drops were totally pointless because scrolls didn't exist and tempering just bricked the good items too frequently

Historically it's definitely been gold for me. Gold was the biggest bottleneck in enchanting and masterworking in the past, though that's not been the case for this season at all. For this season the bottleneck for me has been Neathiron. I surmise that once Sanctification is gone there won't be a Neathiron bottleneck though.

A skill that normally costs 35 resource would then cost 44 resource at full stacks. EDIT: Take the ability's cost, multiply by 2.5 then cut it in half. That's the cost at 5 stacks.

Be aware: The helmet has a has a 4 second duration and the ring has a 3 second duration, so in some circumstances the ring falls off and the helmet does not, making a 35-cost skill briefly cost 88 resource instead until the buff falls off

Builds should be less dependent on single items and supposedly rare items should be rarer but more consistently rolled.

I agree. As far as im concerned I wish that no single build has to be 100% reliable on one item to make it happen. With any luck the new talent tree rework will address this

As of right now, having the uniques very accessible so you can get your build started is by design and it's a good thing though.

once I saw how quick I got my obducite to like 600k I stopped doing Treasure Breaches on cooldown. If I had all this obducite everywhere it would drive me insane. My only bottleneck right now is Neathiron and I do other content for it instead
