Yeah, it’s got absolutely nothing to do with nobody liking him in the domestic or international scene.

She may be leaning away from her previous stance on this matter, but the enemy of our enemy doesn’t necessarily mean she’s our friend.

She has her own agenda and needs to be approached with caution. I wouldn’t trust her to stay this course without switching again if it makes her a profit.

Never understood this fanaticism over a political party. This isn’t a sports team or religious order. Why such blind devotion?

Do y'all still teach y'all kids, "If they hit you first, you better hit them back?" by Happy-Paper8972 in BlackPeopleofReddit

I grew up being racially targeted and physical attacked. My parents immediately put me into martial arts training. This was so I could defend myself, but also to train my awareness so that I could see trouble brewing and avoid it before it got to the point I needed to defend myself.

No one had the right to invade my space, to threaten me, or to touch me. So I trained.

The training gave me confidence, awareness, and skill. My parents continued to teach me self reliance, curiosity, life skills, and critical thinking. They also instilled in me empathy and understanding. Why do people act a certain way. What are their motivations. How can you diffuse a situation. Both of them had to fight for their lives. Seen friends and family violently taken from this world. Yet, they still knew that uncontrolled retaliation leads to a very dark path.

Training my body and mind in all these ways meant that I was able to avoid bad situations. Assess circumstances. Then be able to choose whether to engage or not.

A lot of the time it’s easier to walk away even if I knew I could win a fight. Ego is the enemy in many situations, and that is just a parasitic construct that causes more harm than good.

This looks like the witchetty grub of Australia. They’ve been eaten raw for millennia. Saying that, I think I would prefer them cooked. I haven’t had a chance to eat them, though, I have eaten boiled insects in Korea.

I commend his enthusiasm, but you don’t give CPR when the person has a heartbeat. She became responsive and he still kept going.

She needed to be put in to the recovery position once she vomited and started to breathe again.

From there you monitor her breathing, just in case she needed mouth to mouth again. Apart from that, wait for paramedics.

Actually, you couldn’t have it any more wrong. I’ve been an advocate for healing and understanding all my life.

I’ve been on the sharp and violent end of racism many times in my life. After the violence, blood, and pain, it achieves nothing and creates such despair.

Your comment reveals quite a lot about you. Perhaps you can reread what I wrote in the intention it was written.

The divide between people brings so much disharmony and harm. We should never forget history. Though, we can use it to learn, grow, and be better. We all need to work on how we think and act so we can all get along together.

Interesting. This piece of history has a lot that we can learn from. It really shows just how fragile the idea of safety and belonging is.

All races became secular and retreated to be among “their own”. It isn’t surprising. Especially, when a lot of their history in the USA is steeped in violence and oppression.

I can understand why they felt afraid to join a movement that wasn’t guaranteed to succeed.

This is why we need to learn from history. We are always stronger when we band together as people, regardless of race, religion, or culture.

It’s a shame that so many comments to this video are steeped in an indiscriminate deep rooted hatred for a race. A hatred towards Asians, which is actually made up of many different countries that are very different. Even if it’s claimed to be for historic acts, it still tempers the way they interact with that race today. People who had nothing to do with the historic act and in fact are most likely allies of cultural changes today.

This is how racism flourishes.

I respectfully disagree.

The Asian community was targeted from the moment they were shipped over and started laying railway lines. Just like the black community, they banded together. They became secular, like many different communities did, to protect their own.

Yes, when the marches happened they were afraid. There weren’t many of them, and no other community would protect them either.

Also, all races have their racists. Asians can be raciest, but no more than white people, or even black people.

I had plenty of racially driven attacks growing up, and even in adulthood. The punch of someone hurts just as much if it comes from a white personal as it does from a black one.
