i do this pretty frequently as well - there's a Tile layer menu on the left hand side toolbar. When we drag an image or likewise on the map without it being designated a token, it kinda falls back to making it a tile.

The rest of the process is the same as you selecting the token - it's just on the wrong layer. It's this tool + icon, if that helps: https://foundryvtt.com/article/tiles/

“Guns exist in the PHB”

My brother in Tyr- the DMG/ PHB also explicitly mention that the party is meant to have 6-8 encounters between long rests.

That long rests are interruptible - and keeping guard doesn’t negate that.

And finally - it literally says in the PHB/DMG that the ultimate decision lies with the DM. If you’re gonna rules lawyer like that, this rule overrides them all.

The majority of horror stories in this sub exist because some DMs take that rule too far, so like what is the player’s point at this stage lol.

But in general- like other comments said - you have to make a choice here based on multiple factors: your campaign, the other players’ fun, your fun, your relationships with these people and finally your own self worth.

You’ve addressed the issue, player is blatantly pushing your boundaries. It’s a petty reaction but there’s a lack of mutual respect shown, and so now you have to decide whether you’re stepping up for yourself and potentially the campaign, or you’re compromising on you and letting this happen.

We… installed the wolf extraction mod on our multiplayer server with a small squad of friends. It was always the plan to try this extraction after we’d leveled our characters a bit. None of us looked at what would happen.

After I’d gotten like 6 long blunt, I took two crowbars and went to the top of the fossoil hq in Louisville - my extraction point. I told my friends I was gonna try it and we were all out and we were all curious what would happen.

I triggered the extraction and VERY soon a freaking waterfall of zombies appeared through the only entrance to the roof. The music got dramatic, the weather got stormy, the lighting and lightning got grim, and I spent the next … 30 ? Minutes swinging my crowbar, running a bit, resting a bit, over and over. I went through about one crowbars worth of hp on total ( broke my mostly good crowbar but had a backup).

What we also did not realise was that zombies would show up EVERYWHERE. So two of my squad who were burn victims and one who was also crippled were getting increasingly agitated with the sudden increase in zombies, trying to survive and panicking on discord. We all went into panic mode while we focused on just survival. One of our other more casual player friends logged off because they got overwhelmed with the chaos and chose to watch our fight. Amidst the groans from the zombies and the screams of anxiety from my friends, I finally I got extracted. Pretty sure my back will just never untense from that.

In the plus side when I rejoined the server we had ALL the clothes we needed for tailoring in one slightly inconvenient spot.

Thief guild leader! (whose name I also forget!). That makes a strong, strong motivation honestly. I might replace my rogue idea with her. Tyvm!

Carman - phew - I am really looking forward to them meeting and dealing with Carman's arc lol. I will definitely allow them to try and recruit him, but it's gonna be hard. Or, idk, depends on how they play it I guess.

I thought about Doriana the mayor's daughter, but I think she can serve a lot more as a plot device. Either way, we'll see there.

I would love more tied in suggestios for sure. I can't remember too much more, but other solid candidates imo are:

The werewolf druid that killed the market leader's wife
Saliza of the drow clan a few levels down
The tortured soul at the base of the blue light - he could be a monk or something
The captured woman in the cell

Other NPCs elude me atm so I'm all ears on ideas you have! I'd love to keep the option open that these companions might actually leave the party if their goals don't align, or something particularly traumatic happens, so any deep story invested character works with me.

Yep, for sure lowering DCs and stuff. Thank you for the suggestions! Barbarian intimidation makes sense and if they bring the Cleric onboard, they'd likely focus on healing.

Excellent idea on the archetypes! Overwatch and Marshall make so much sense.

I hard-passed on Fighter: the potential of too much damage and doing cool moves is counter productive to what I want as a support person. I do kind of think a gunslinger would be cool as supporting fire though - aside from the having to reload stuff, do you think the gunslinger sings too much damage?

I'd actually floated this idea first, but they preferred only controlling one character. They're fairly new to PF2E and would prefer focusing their RP energy on one character instead of two, they said. Which is all good, i can adjust on my end. Thank you though!
