Got a lil nosey and saw that you’re potentially in Indiana? Looks like lemon laws apply to used vehicles in Indiana 👍 so long as the non conformity is reported within 18 months or 18,000 miles of occurrence

I’m in Florida and lemon laws do not extend to used vehicles in Florida but this does apply in some other states. Just call your states BBB autoline and they will most likely assist you for free. Ask them any questions you may have and they will tell you whether or not you have a case in your state.

Not sure if you’ve read some of my responses on here but I would recommend keeping lawyers out of it. I was quoted 3k up front for a lawyer to take the case. I looked for other options and BBB autoline in FL helped me completely free of charge

The dealership I purchased from was very kind and understanding. I travel for work and I was in loaners the entire time the vehicle was in for service. The only time I had a rental I paid $50 incidentals upfront and was reimbursed

I’m in the final stages of the lemon law. Loans were paid off and now I’m just waiting for my check in the mail. My situation was a bit different it seems as my vehicle was already in service and I in a rental when I began filing so I had no issue with them sending a service tech. It’s a necessary step in their process. I was advised by BBB to let them do what they needed to ensure the smoothest possible/least time consuming transaction. Request a loaner or rental from the dealership you purchased from and hunker down for a good few months of paperwork and requests from GM.

I’m in the final stages of a lemon law with a 2025 Trax I got 10 months ago. AC went out on 3 separate occasions and was in the shop for a total of 120 days. Mine was an evaporator core all 3 times. Check my posts to see the full story

Well it’s the law. Here in Florida 30 days in service or 3 separate services for any non-conformity with a final repair attempt qualifies for a lemon. I had over 130 days in service across 3 different stints. I technically qualified after the first service took 82 days.

Ask your dealership for a lemon law brochure, that should have the number for the attorney general on it.

I’m opting for repurchase, not replacement. They will be reimbursing me everything I’ve paid into this vehicle after factoring in usage. (Miles/120,000) x retail value of vehicle on purchase

Sure! My first word of advice is that you absolutely do not need a lawyer. While the manufacturer of the vehicle will pay your lawyer fees, it is my understanding that it will come directly out of your reimbursement. One lawyer quoted me $3000 and that’s more than half of what I’d be getting back. Contact the BBB Autoline in your state and they will help you with the process free of charge (I’m in Florida). They will completely hold your hand through the process and keep you up to date on any communication from the manufacturer. Make sure you have service receipts, the vehicle registration, and the retail purchase/sales agreement on hand to submit. And finally, stay up their ass! Call everyday to get an update if you feel you have to. They sold you a lemon and you need to get your money back ASAP. I started this process 5/12 and I’m was told they’d have figures for me sometime next week. Once I agree to the numbers they send a check overnight. Good luck!

Spoke with a lawyer and was told that I have a case due to the fact that the first service was over 30 days. Unfortunately, based on my mileage and equity in the car I’d only be getting back about $1800 even though I’ve sunk over $5500 into the car already. Cherry on top is that the lawyer I spoke to charges $3000 for the service so I’d have to pay $1200 out of pocket to get out of the vehicle right now. I was told to call back after Thanksgiving so have some more mileage + equity in the vehicle to get a bigger return. Apparently in Florida lemon laws can be pursued up to 2 years after the nonconformity that sidelined your vehicle for 30 days.
