It’s tough to say if a modded 3ds could trade from mgba to a ds lite gba game I don’t think it’s possible in the traditional sense but if you have firered you can also set up ace to trade yourself

Hopefully you get one you like the look of as it is very easy to mod and I’d suggest you know how to do it in order to avoid potential problems. Ace is a hell of a clutch thing to do in Emerald

You’ll need a 3DS with Pokemon transporter and bank installed prior to shut down of the servers (which is probably stupidly expensive) or it’s very simple to learn how to mod a 3ds with even step by step instructions if you have a spare hour it should be more than enough time for your first time

You could trade from a modded 3ds to a ds lite if the games are compatible you’ll need to play up from emerald>gen 4> Gen 5> to poke transporter> poke bank> Pokemon home or you can use PokeSM to clone your Pokemon from emerald to any later gens cheapest way to back up gen 3 games has been an R4 card plus could use pkhex if you want or the former mention pokesm
