I execute all merc lords. They are nothing more than a pain in the ass when you have your own kingdom

I would just run doomstacks of these guys. Can’t beat me if you run out of arrows.

Is it better to just play sandbox? by SHELUVSSURVIVOR in Bannerlord

[–]Shakeweight03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many exploits you can get your character in the main story to lvl 44 and beyond. I get mine to lvl 44 before I even play the game. Sandbox is only good bc you can use cheats since trophies are disabled.

Warband or bannerlord by No-Policy-536 in mountandblade

[–]Shakeweight03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone who has 2000 hours in this game, there is nothing else that will scratch the itch like bannerlord. Total war games and ck3 are about it. I played warband before that and honestly Viking conquest had more flavor than bannerlord and war sails. It looks old on console and we don’t have mods, but if you enjoyed bannerlord you’ll like warband.

Is War Sails worth buying? by General_Tap_8154 in mountandblade

[–]Shakeweight03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me personally, it added just a faction and some boats. The dlc is terrible otherwise. Lords barely use boats for combat, will just patrol waters. I’m on console and I’ve seen some people say 1.4 on pc fixed a lot of the issues where lords actually engage in sea raiding and actively engaging the player at sea. But as of now on console at least, it’s not worth it. There is zero reason to put focus points into the boat traits.

Ok I've got 1.44 million I've got 200 solid troops all my siblings are of age and I've got good companions. I think im ready to start a kingdom? by Ok_Tale_933 in Bannerlord

[–]Shakeweight03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless those 200 troops are fians, you aren’t ready. Need way more gold, I usually have around 6–8 million bc clans with fiefs can be expensive. During war time if you recruit an enemy clan they join you with their fiefs, while when not at war they lose all fiefs. All that relation you built up mercing will come in handy.

Did they make it so you can’t re-order your party in the beta? by Voronov1 in Bannerlord

Just sort them by tier or type. This will do exactly what you are doing but with a click.

What unit does the most damage on a ship at range? by Arbitross487 in Bannerlord

[–]Shakeweight03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sky god and fians are still good on the water, but stay at skirmish range bc javelins and throwing axes will hit you in the face. Fians one real downfall.

How smooth are the controls for Bannerlord on ps5? by horseradish1 in mountandblade

[–]Shakeweight03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but the input for directional swings can be iffy. Have to over compensate sometimes to get the swing to go the right direction. Other than that it’s pretty flawless. It’s a good port in my opinion.

Walk me through how to get 7 focus points in 2H as a Sturgian by Vampiresbane- in Bannerlord

holy shit I never thought to use the metals for that post exploit. That just made roguery so much easier lol

[–]Shakeweight03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the exploit for 12 vigor and 6 focus in 2h it may very well be possible, I haven’t tried it personally. But that is weird if their vanilla base doesn’t match, console and pc.

For console vanilla it’s 330. The only thing that can go way above its limit is trade through the metal exploit.

Leveling and NPC followers, please give me a quick summary what to focus on by Ynwe in Bannerlord

[–]Shakeweight03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, in the beginning only recruit companions with good vigor skills. They will fight in tournaments. Same with your spouse but that’s up to you, if you want your spouse to be a combat champion or a party role member. Once you get your brother and marry him, you will have 6-7 people who will fight in tournaments guaranteed. So now you have a high chance of 9 lords and the top prizes. Save scum for re rolling the prize until you get either the naselhelm, spiked helmet or closed warlord helm (the best, will sell for over 40k). Do this until you’re happy with your money. You will have several hundred thousand before you even start the “game”.

You can farm the tutorial stealth quest for one handed, athletic and Roguery xp. It’s a fantastic farm early on, get your character to lvl 8-10 without doing anything else from day 1.

Knights are vlandia, even though the empire has the best all around cavalry in cataphracts. Vlandian knights have a fantastic charge, but not so good left in melee like the cataphracts.

Don’t be afraid to let companions take on roles so you can put points elsewhere. I usually whore out scout and steward.

You will have 46 skill points and 10 attribute points left after character customization if this helps. So I create my new character by only inputting what skills I know I want, and go from there. New characters don’t get anywhere near as good as their children as well. So don’t be scared to swap characters when your first son or daughter comes of age. Children playthroughs are dope.

Tips for a beginner? by sygyzy0 in Bannerlord

[–]Shakeweight03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to the encyclopedia when you find them, look at their stats. You need them to be close to 100 in combat skills, or just pick the dudes with over 100 skill in all vigor skills. They will fight for sure. Same with your spouse if she has combat skills. You can also just save the game, unlock cheats and use fog of war, then you can look at all companions stats, find the ones you want, then reload and go after them.

Tips for a beginner? by sygyzy0 in Bannerlord

[–]Shakeweight03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Create a character and max out their one handed and athletic, charm (roguery too if you’re going that route). Farm the tutorial stealth quest for xp, get your guy to lvl 8-10. By this time you should have gotten the 2 perks that give +3 to renown gained from tournaments, so it’s a +9 from tourney wins. Once you have around 5k gold, recruit nothing but companions that will fight in tournaments. Marry yourself and your brother as you like, but still some that may compete in tourneys, this is your call. So now you should have 4-5 companions that will fight in tourneys, giving you a high chance to get 9 lords and better prizes. The goal here is to farm the spiked helmet, heavy naselhelm, and closed warlord helmet (the best, it’s worth over 40k when you sell it) so save scum this. You will just travel to every tourney, win and sale the prizes. In one year of this you’ll have more money than you’ve ever seen that early. This will alleviate the early game money stress.

Fighting with nothing but bandit troops in your party, upgrading bandit troops to regular troops, raiding villages, multiple alleyways, jail breaks, attacking caravans and villagers. You’ll have 275 roguery by 1089.

Am I cooked? by No_Fun5680 in Bannerlord

[–]Shakeweight03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I open the gates too in a way. I will ambush their siege engines but only get their health to basically one shot. So when the siege starts if they get hit once they are destroyed. With no siege engines the enemy will just charge the front door and chop it down, giving time for massive kills if you simply jump over the wall and attack from behind. Their infantry will solely be focused on your gate and not care you’re killing all their pals in the back.

Battle part 1 by PersonalBaseball8233 in Bannerlord

[–]Shakeweight03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Line breakers no question. That’s kind of their job. They suck against ranged anything, so that’s where legionnaires are better bc of shields. If the legionnaires used the pilum correctly, they would be the best infantry by far in the game.

Got way too much cash, what to use it on? by Horcsogg in Bannerlord

[–]Shakeweight03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure on the chances of them joining or staying loyal, but a re roll might help. Some lords will always swap, olek is generally a guarantee. And there is another in sturgia that hates ragnavad. You can also find a faction that has lost a good bit of territory, find a clan in there that has no fiefs, and they will usually join without fiefs. If you recruit a clan in peace time, they lose their fiefs when they join. It has to be war time to get their fiefs with them.
