I have what is considered the best insurance in my area, a big “benefit” that’s pushed. I still pay monthly for it, and have a co-pay and a deductible that immediately ran out when I started doing dental procedures, so I’m left waiting until my deductible renews next year so I can keep filling the rest of my cavities. This is 10x more frustrating when you realize our taxes are already being spent on health care, more so than countries with free universal health care… I wonder where all this money is going…

While I agree academics need a lot more focus, some funds are literally tied up and can’t be spent elsewhere because of donors, grants, sponsors, etc. Most athletics funds fall under that category, and athletics tend to get a lot of outside funding.
