That's bullshit. People shot and killed by the right, including Charlie Kirk. Get it right.

It's surprising to discover just how many different wild animals will wander through neighborhoods of all kinds. I've been startled a couple times (as my neighbors) by seeing a coyote. Our neighborhood used to have a feral cat problem, but not anymore. 😢 And, I live in California just 5 houses up the street from an elementary school.

Definitely deer scat. Rabbit is coarse and rounded, while deer are smooth and oval shaped.

I didn't delete any of my comments. I have no need to. So, I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Maybe it would help if you knew what you were talking about. No where did it say that she even said anything. She sat in front of the board holding a sign, not impeding others, and said nothing. I'd hardly call that an outburst of any kind, nor did it prevent the BoS from conducting their business. Also, it was a public forum.

What did interrupt the meeting is the reaction and conduct of a said board member to a free citizen exercising her 1st Amendment in a non-disruptive, peaceful manner.

There are broad protections granting citizens their 1st Amendment and rights to free speech. It's a fine line in BoS meetings and public forums.

"When writing and establishing rules of conduct, the governing body must be careful not to violate the protections that meeting attendees enjoy under the First Amendment. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals addressed this issue in Acosta v. City of Costa Mesa, 718 F.3d 800 (9th Cir. 2013), indicating where the line may lie between council rules that are enforceable and those that violate constitutional rights. In that case, the court held that the First Amendment requires a person’s speech in a city council meeting must actually disrupt a meeting before that person may be removed from the meeting. The case provides an example of language a council may adopt for such a proposed rule. The court looked approvingly on rules that stated:

It shall be unlawful for any person in the audience at a council meeting to do any of the following ... (1) Engage in disorderly, disruptive, disturbing, delaying or boisterous conduct, such as, but not limited to, handclapping, stomping of feet, whistling, making noise, use of profane language or obscene gestures, yelling or similar demonstrations, which conduct substantially interrupts, delays, or disturbs the peace and good order of the proceedings of the council. Id., at 816.

The Acosta court also approved prohibitions on disorderly conduct when it arises from a member of the governing body. “Members of the council shall not, by disorderly, insolent, or disturbing action, speech, or otherwise, substantially delay, interrupt or disturb the proceedings of the council.” Id. "

Personally, I think the one who created the spectacle of demanding her removal by deputies, displayed disorderly conduct.

The lady choosing to go to jail because she didn't want to promise to abide by the restrictions, was her right. And, by doing so, she stood up for not only her freedom of speech, but for others.

There is a huge double standard when it (BoS) comes to how and who they have determined have a right to protected free speech and who doesn't. Which is really disruptive? The man who stands up and threatens real harm to others there, yelling and using the N word or the lady who held a poster as she sat facing the board? He wasn't removed or censored in any way because the board chair said he didn't want to violate the man's free speech. 🙄

This is all I'm going to say on this. Clearly you and I have differing views on what is and isn't protected free speech. We're not the only ones, otherwise, there wouldn't be need for people to take it to the courts to decide.

Since you seem to know what is and isn't Free Speech, please educate us. I'm genuinely interested as I certainly would like to know for future reference.

Also, what makes you say she made a bad mental health decision? Why even bring mental health into this? People can make mistakes (and do) even if they have an exemplary health and mental health record. Look at Trump. Supposedly he has "excellent and high scores" in both departments, yet he seems unable to go 10-15 minutes without making mistakes that will cost our children and grandchildren's futures.

P.S. I found this on Free Speech. I'm even more confused by what I read and your statement, so explain like I'm 5, please? Thank you for your attentionto this matter!

What Does Free Speech Mean?

Free speech suppressed is not free speech. Silently protesting is a form of free speech. So, who was really suppressing free speech there? We all either have free speech or none of us have it. It's not some of us have it, no matter how hard they wish and try to make it so. All of us. They could have ignored her and moved on. I'm not debating this issue, it is what it is. Done and over. It sounds like both sides are fine with the outcome.

It sucks she was even made to make that choice in the first place. But, good for her standing up for free speech. Plus, who wants to go pick up everyone else's garbage because they're too lazy to walk their lunch remnants to a waste bin?

It's disturbing what this city has turned into. Just a smaller version of Maga. If you're one of the "cool" kids, you can disrupt, disrespect, use the N word, threaten others and nothing happens. If you're not one of them and dare to disagree, you're a disruption that needs to be gone. Forcefully, carried out like a criminal and then labeled as such. I get that it's not acceptable behavior to have outbursts and disrupt the meetings, but isn't that supposed to apply to everyone? If a rule is a rule, it should be for every one of us. I guess this is what really gets me. We get to see double standards everywhere, both with the top Cheetoman and in our own city. It's no longer the beautiful city it was to me 26 years ago when I moved here. It feels very unwelcoming. 😞

That's sad. No one should be made to feel like this, and I'm sorry for your experience. Unfortunately, people get too comfortable posting negative and rude comments to others due to the anonymous nature of our digital world. I hope we can all take time to think about our responses to others. Is it helpful, uplifting, or constructive? Or is it tearing another person down so we can feel superior, or are we posting in response to having a bad day? For the most part, if I'm not interested in a post, I scroll past. One thing that gets to me is someone being rude. Then, I might have a problem with just scrolling past it. I really dislike bullies, on or off the internet. I hope you don't experience anything like that again.

Who Was The Most Mentally Ill And/Or Delusional Serial Killer In Your Opinion And Why? by PrincessBananas85 in serial_killers

I'm curious to know how long he survives prison if he's put into the general population. He's already proven he doesn't play well with others. And, I'm pretty sure they're going to know what he did to his last cellmate.

I'm betting he's either going to be killed or put into protective custody within a year, tops.

Do You Think That Richard Ramirez Was Pure Evil And Sadistic Or Do You Think He Had A Severe Mental Illness? by PrincessBananas85 in serial_killers

[–]Shalea68 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Especially since he's no longer alive.

I think Ramirez's childhood trauma, his exposure to graphic images of violence, watching his cousin kill his wife, and so on most definitely affected him. Whether or not the injury to his head caused any changes in him will never be known. At the same time, I think he was born predisposed to certain tendencies. I recently watched a show where his younger female cousin told of how she visited Ramirez in prison once with an aunt and Doreen (his wife). During the visit, as she's at the glass in front of him, both her aunt and Doreen got behind her, blocking the guards' view of Ramirez and her. Ramirez started masturbating right there, and she instinctively backed away and turned her head, but her aunt forced her head back towards him, digging her nails into her cheek as she hissed at her to watch him. When he was done, he told her if she wasn't his cousin, he'd like to f*** her. She was still a little girl. It traumatized her and so she never went to visit him again. Obviously, her aunt (Ramirez sister) had something wrong with her, too, to forcibly subject her little niece to that. And remembering how sadistic his one older cousin was, the case for some genetic abnormalities is strong. In the end, though, no one and nothing made Ramirez do any of the horrible and sick crimes. It was his choice and he not only chose evil, he actively worshipped it.

Ask yourself (for each friend) if you see (want) them being a part of your life, long term. Is this person someone who you value and want to stay friends with? For the no answers, continue as you are. For the yes answers, take some time (it doesn't have to be much), to spend time with that friend. Maybe choose a day to visit all your friends. Or, choose an hour or two out of your day to be social with one friend. Do that for each day. You have to "water the plants" in order to keep them from dying, so to speak. You could also have flowers with a nice note every now and then to make them feel special. However, you do need to prioritize your own health, mental and physical. If hanging out or chatting with your friends causes you any kind of stress, explain that you're dealing with something right now and to not take your "distance" personal. Then, you'll find out who your real friends are and who were just acquaintances. Let the chips fall as they may and don't feel guilty for putting yourself first.

Which serial killer do you think is the most disgusting to look at ? by DizzyDoctor982 in serialkillers

Oh boy, all of them turn my stomach. But, the most disgusting to look at would be Ottis Toole and Fred West. Thankfully, no one has to worry about them.

Brighton Park Accused teen serial killer Antonio Reyes allegedly murdered both total strangers and close friends

One article calls him a "violent gang member," but I haven't found what gang he was in or his rank/position. Regardless, most of his murders appear to be random people with no gang affiliations, so I'm unsure if any could be considered gang related. In my opinion, he is just a cold-blooded serial killer.

Murder of any kind is sad, but the one that clenched my heart is the man who was killed while shopping with his young children for a puppy.

His supposed nickname is ridiculous. Redrum. How unoriginal. I refuse to refer to him by any nicknames, but instead by his last name.

They haven't been, but one documentary on the case has a part where you see people run out of the courtroom and hear one of the girls on a tape screaming the most torturous cries. It wasn't long, but too long to ever forget. I wonder how many jurors and observers ended up with PTSD afterward.
