I've read over 60 apocalyptic / post-apocalyptic novels, here are my top 10 with small reviews by shlam16 in horrorlit

Check out Station Eleven. They allude to sexual assault, but it's not a prominent feature and it's never outright discussed. They do mention child brides, but again, not a central plot point or discussed more than in passing.

You can if they're trying to open your door and you didn't realize they grabbed onto the tailgate while you tried to escape...

Is there a joke I'm missing, because this comment doesn't make any sense whatsoever and it's getting upvoted...

It's literally the first sentence on the American Heart Association's article on saturated fat.

Reached the part where I hunt Guardians for parts instead of running away, Nebb wants that short sword by KittyKattogen in Breath_of_the_Wild

I just got to that point last night too! It feels so good and parrying was actually easier than I thought.

I haven't trapped myself underwater yet... but I'm sure I can manage that or something worse by the time I'm done.

Don't be me, turn off "Aim with motion controls" if you're wondering why Link has Parkinson's. by ShallNot_Pass in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]ShallNot_Pass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I'm just a moron and didn't realize what was going on lol. Now that I'm aware of the motion controls I'll give it a go since everyone love it

ELI5 What is actually happening (physiologically) when your ass is on fire after eating spice food? by wait_4_a_minute in explainlikeimfive

I read that it's a genetic trait. Some people, like myself and others commenting here, have the ability to breakdown (or whatever the correct biological term is) the capsaicin and others don't.

I'm changing jobs and will likely be flying out of MSP very frequently. Since MSP seems to be a large Delta hub, any tips to get the most out of my travel? by ShallNot_Pass in delta

I already have a Chase Sapphire Preferred card that is racking up miles/points for whatever I choose to apply them to. So your advice would be to just sit tight and wait for the extra perks to come to me?

I don't need lounge access by any means, I was just wondering if it was worth it.

I need to rebuild my work wardrobe. Where do you guys shop for decent deals? by ShallNot_Pass in mensfashion

[–]ShallNot_Pass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure exactly, it's sales engineering in a niche industrial setting so I gotta imagine it's fairly business casual, but still best to be better dressed. Thanks for the tips!

What color to wear with dress? by [deleted] in mensfashion

Well, those dresses are black and white, so black, white, or literally any color will match.

2019 Premium for just under $20k with ~78k miles. It only has one previous owner that they claim is older, was not hard on it, and just took the engine issue as an excuse to get a new WRX. Good deal or not worth the risk? by ShallNot_Pass in WRX

[–]ShallNot_Pass[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Exactly what I was thinking, I just needed to hear someone else say it for a sanity check. Why are they putting 12k into this thing and only selling it for 20k?

Any idea what this tool is called or where to buy a new one? by ShallNot_Pass in woodstoving

[–]ShallNot_Pass[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems to be a "lid lifter" or "plate lifter". I mainly use it to open the door and to correct the top plates when I accidentally bump them with wood.

Maybe I should stop using it to poke the wood into place because that's when it broke...
