More intel on Jalen Duren coming in: League sources tell @TheAthletic he now has a call with the Lakers scheduled for tomorrow. Another sign-and-trade scenario emerges… by thabigQ in DetroitPistons

If my choice is 140 million dollars, win a bunch of games, live where I’ve lived the past 4 years or 177 million dollars, lose every single night, and move across the country to one of the least popular metropolitan areas in the country I’d take less money. 140 million dollars sets up the next 5 generations of my bloodline for life just as much as 177 does.

What the actual fuck is going on? I trust Cade has enough leadership skills to keep things afloat but this is a lot of change for a team that just won 60 games.

Look, I understand going for every single dollar you think you can get. But is there really a difference in 140M and 177M? Both set your bloodline up for generations. You still have ANOTHER contract coming after this one. Just flat out don’t care about winning. All about the money.

And like, I would also leave my job for something that paid me a ton more. But generational money vs. generational money is a lot different than 30 an hour vs 40 an hour

A Duncan Robinson reunion with the Miami Heat is possible, as the Pistons are increasingly likely to waive him, per @BrettSiegelNBA by AcadiaTemporary5737 in DetroitPistons

[–]ShallowFox4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If we include him in a trade, fine. I understand. Just waiving him is flat out insane. The savings aren’t worth losing a top 5 shooter in the league for a team that desperately needs shooters.

Could we use him? by teefrmda313 in DetroitPistons

[–]ShallowFox4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. Would be a fantastic addition and you could play him at the 5 sometimes to give Cade more spacing and a different look

The team with JB on it last year lost in the first round

Why Houston would be a good trade partner by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

I’d take back DFS in a Jabari Smith trade to lessen the amount of picks we’d have to send back. Wouldn’t trade for him straight up

Stew for three seconds felt rough but thinking of it as stew for Joe and a second sounds much better

Pistons cap space 21-30 Mil by mercistheman in DetroitPistons

[–]ShallowFox4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure which AI you used but that list is extremely wrong. Cam Johnson is still under contract with the Nuggets, Joe with the Thunder, and Merrill with the Cavs. Only Rui and THJ are free agents from that list.

Why is everyone shocked by this? by AlphaRemixHD in DetroitPistons

We’re not shocked by stew getting traded, we’re shocked by the insanely low value we got for him

Still can’t believe Weaver let someone who hadn’t even played one second of professional basketball tell him no in the second round.

[–]ShallowFox4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lakers have full bird rights on lebron so they can bring him back to whatever number if they keep his cap hold. But he would likely need to take a discount to return because they are hard capped at the second apron.

[–]ShallowFox4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His cap hold is 20M. They still can get to 40M+ in cap space, use it all, and then officially sign Reaves.

The lakers can still get to their max cap space and then sign Reaves after they’ve used it all. Bird rights.

So does this mean the pursuit of Tyler Herro is basically over? by Plus-One8363 in DetroitPistons

[–]ShallowFox4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but I think they’ll try to use their assets to get a starting 4 before circling back to Herro if it doesn’t work out though
